Android seems to be pretty functional (even better than ios in some areas) and I'm really tired of jailbreaking.

How do you guys think? Is Android worth a try?
DDDDD: I wish I had a 3GS (I'm on an iPhone 3g and a turtle walks faster than it can browse the web without tweaking it.)

I also wish I had an android, I feel selfish ._.
But android is very nice too. Its more open. No jail breaking/rooting required for many things. But if you do decide to root, I would suggest cyanogenmod. And then get setcpu to overclock/underclock to save battery or performance.

There are some jailbreak apps which you can install through cydia which can help speed up your device (alot!)
    - Springtomize 2
    - Multifl0w (in the settings make the activator a short press. Makes multitasking a lot easier)
    - bitesms (better texting)
    - datadeposit (so u dont lose ur saves)

If you feel that your home screen is laggy you can remove icon shadows (speeds it up alot)
You can also remove some launch daemons to speed up boot time.
Also in your settings disable spotlight searches (General -> Spotlight search -> uncheck everything)

EDIT Looking at this post made me look for phones.

Phone. Must have Phone. Me like iphone, but i want android. How about a Meizu MX?
Like a cross between a galaxy sII and an iphone 4 ._. I want.

Retina Display + 1.4ghz dual core with ANDROID.

Downside? Deal extreme takes about a month to arrive in the USA, sooo, ur gonna be waiting for a while.

I have a Galaxy SII and I think it is perfect. To me the size is perfect (4.2"), bigger I don't want and don't need. It is blazing fast for loading web pages on wifi and on 3G of course depends on the coverage. The size is so good that one of my main uses is to reed ebooks when I am waiting somewhere. Perfectly comfortable size. Takes great photos and videos, music sounds excellent, it is very fast with games, with Maps, HD movies, and compared to iPhone it is totally open and you can do anything that the market can offer.

In addition you can replace the battery. I always carry two more with me just in case, but only run out of battery once. It will last 6 hours in non-stop heavy use or one day for normal use.

I can also add more memory if I want. I now have 8 GB which come by default pus a microSD card of 16GB, so I have 24GB for a ridiculous amount of money (microSD 16GB cards cost 10€ now a days). Apple takes your blood for everything.

I paid 230€ for it free and second hand in perfect state, so I am absolutely happy with it.

You will miss the elegance of Apple in many ways, and surely some apps and features, but you will find many others too.

To me there is no doubt that Android is at the moment the best choice, always that the phone is powerful enough, meaning from 1Ghz processors and 1GB RAM. Don't buy less than that and don't overspend in too powerful ones, they are unncessary. Sony Ericsson's Xperias for instance (named Arc, Neo or Ray) have one only core and are excellent and very cheap at the moment.

You can install Chrome from app store, BrowserChooser from Bigboss repo so that chrome is your default browser, and buy nitrous so that Chrome will use Nitro engine.
    Chrome is x10000 better.

Does it reach Apple's level? One of the reason why I have to use Apple is sound quality (via headphones). Does Samsung sound okay?

I don't really afford anything better right now.
Amazon.com: Sennheiser PX 200-II i Lightweight Supra-Aural Headphones with 3 Button Control for iPod, iPhone, and iPad: Electronics
It sounds fine. Good for rock musics.

    I did a blind test with iPhone3GS / iPad2 / Computer(bad soundcard) and I was able to distinguish. iPad2 > iPhone3GS > Computer

^ nothing wrong with those headphones. For portable headphones, they are actually pretty decent.

TOTALLY. They are best choice for $100 headphones. I used to think that iPhone bundle earphones were the best... until I bought this headphones.

I really really really want to buy the HD800 thing which cost something like $1500... the most expensive one Senheiser offers.

Spending that kind of money needs to come with a lot of research to find the best options. Unless you are doing audio professionally, I think the HD800's will likely be a waste of cash.

I highly recommend the Beyerdynamic DT770's (less than $200), for around the $150 mark the Audio-Technica ATH M50's are solid. In the $350 range the Denon AHD2000 get good reviews...as do the AKG 702's.

Headphones are very much a personal choice. I personally use Grado SR-125's myself and absolutely love their open air design. I made some pad covers to provide a bit more comfort and I listed mostly at work at low volumes so sound leakage is not a problem.

True. There's no way I can afford it either.

I'll defiantly try out your suggestions when this headphones break.
