w00t! is an expression first used in an on-line adventure on Mud in the early eighties.
"what a lot of treasure!".
To remind the older members here and to give the youngsters (below 50) a view of gaming in those years I have attached the predecessor -
Colossal Cave Adventure.
The graphics are not up to Skyrim, in fact there isn't any it is pure text.
But once your imagination kicks in it is far more vivid than most games prior to direct x9 offerings.
It only runs in dos (cmd prompt) on a 32 bit system, not 64 bit.
Unzip to c:\cave; open a cmd prompt; cd c:\cave; advent
y to instructions to get the movement and action commands and be ready to plot your course.
Give it a try but don't blame me if waste hours trying to achieve a perfect score of 551 or flame me if it is not your thing.

I think that game has one other distinctive "first"... "You are in a maze of twisty little passages all alike" One of the first truly infuriating game mechanics ever invented! :D

Though I did eventually physically map the stupid thing out so I could pass through it in future runs.

I have a hell of a lot of respect for older games. In fact I prefer them over new ones. I'm a hardcore DOS gamer. And I also like my old consoles as well. I was even thinking of turning my last computer I had into a Windows 95 system, I still could if I wanted to. Or I could go even further back and just make it a full blown DOS system. Not too sure yet. But one thing I have to admit is I am not a fan of Text based games. I played a few before but ended up bored out of my mind. I need something that has a few pixels to look at lol Remember the graphics on the D&D DOS game? LOL Now that is what I am talking about.
