Was the place to be not long ago...

I still use build 9200.

Remembering all the jazz about "the metro" it's funny all the arguments that happened
and all the members that got into hot water over extreme commentary.
It was hilarious. My interest in this site was immensely enhanced by all of the heated posts.

My version of Windows 8.0 build 9200 (Server 2012),
works beautifully.

Not using 10.

Posted using a chromebook and a mobile hotspot device.

Retired in 2015 after working in the tech industry for 41 years. First 10 years as a Technician, the rest as a programmer/software engineer. After 1 year of retirement, I was bored so went back to work as a Robotic Process Automation Consultant. Retired for 3rd (and final) time in 2019.
Not been here for ages as I'm running 10 now on this Asus. There aren't enough hours in the day for me to keep up on a regular basis at all the forums.
I upgraded this 8.1.1 Asus to 10 when it came out and I've not regretted it I've still got a 7 desktop but that can't be upgraded because of one of the components, Hubby has his laptop and desktop running 7 and they can be upgraded but so far he's not bothered.

I was originally a h-8-ter (ha that was cute). No way was I going to be caught dead using Windows 8 or the Start screen. Now I love Windows 8. Using it with Classic Shell and Server 2012 updates - post January 2016. Very happy!

I havent been here in ages myself. I have since moved to Linux Mint KDE on my machines. I find it works better for what I do than Windows. More freeware available for it and has many things that I need built in so hardly any downloading and adding or apps is done. LibreOffice works great, Kmail is great for email. Really the only add on app I have is Chrome. Other than that, everything else I use was already there. Oh, and its less vulnerable to viruses. Or maybe its more accurate to say there arent nearly as many out in the wild.

Just havent been really impressed with Windows lately.

What shocks me more is that when major developments are posted here - you get ZERO reaction. Threads on the new Windows Update system, and even me extending the life of the original Windows 8 with Server 2012 updates, should be BIG news. All the effort is on the Windows 10 Forum now.

Pity. :(
