I would not call Microsoft. I think there must be a worldwide network of support whereas your call could be routed to India or any of the Asian countries. This has already happen to me. I do not want foreigners to answer my support questions. I find their accents hard to understand.
Some cannot pronounce English properly. For instance; The word "Support" was pronounced "Supboat" .
Your better off placing your questions on any one of the above topics.

Why would you ask Customer Support that question? Things like what features will be included/removed in a release are generally decided by the Marketing department. Customer Support doesn't know the reason why Marketing decided not to include WMC.

My guess is that it wasn't widely used. Sure there are those users like yourself that used it but the bulk of Windows users never used it. Personally, I tried it a few times and thought it was terrible as a media player app but I didn't have a TV tuner.
