on the first i'm going to get a new printer for this windows 8. that's easy. but the printer must also work on windows XP. again, that's easy. but the problem i'm running into is the number of bits the printer will only use in XP. for example, I picked one biased onwhat it will do for windows 8, but will work in XP with 32 bits only.
but where on the XP computer do I look to find out how much bits I have?
the model number is: Emachines W3107 (yes, that old) it came with windows XP home edition. it is now XP sp3.
the big problem is after XP, starting with vista*, printers and PCs' stopped coming with software for doing envelopes.

that's what I was told
