    KC SUmo - note, that is bundled with multiple adware, still the best free option out there.
    Secunia PSI - it updates some soft automatically, but only if it fixes security vulnerabilities.
    Softpedia - you can choose software to add to watchlist, which notifies you by email about it.

    If you choose Sumo (I use it), choose the Lite download, no additional bundled programs

    It does occasionally alert to new versions that cannot be found, sometimes beta versions.

My updates and driver installs never finish because they always stop at a certain percentage and I have to eventually force shutdown the PC.
