I get laser bluetooth ones off Ebay. Personally have found the expensive ones don't last much longer than the cheap ones. Presently using an HP X4000b, works fine. Nothing with a cord, cut that a long time ago.

    Microsoft Intellimouse Optical Mouse

This mouse is awesome, its olddddddd but still kicks butt and is still available online.
This is a 5 button mouse where your thumb lands on the (back) button and your ring finger on the (forward) button
You can fly through directory trees and back and forth on web pages like mad...
Forget moving the mouse to the upper left for the (back) button, just thumb it and BAM your back one page or hit it several times and youll go back in time!! Most other 5 button mice have the forward and back buttons in the same area under your thumb where you can hit the wrong one easily. Its a GREEEAAAAT gaming mouse, its what i used it for back in the day!
I believe the model is 320, its usually white with silver trim, but i also found a black one which is rare..
    Check it out..

Oh the days of cleaning out the lint and hair, found memories.

When you said "trackball" I thought of old trackball mice, weren't they great?

Since I posted my original message, I picked up a Sharkk gaming mouse. It is one of the best gaming mouse values, check out the Sharkk SK2471 wired gaming mouse. I picked up one for $12 at Amazon. I don't use it for much gaming, just mainly as a general office mouse. It has 7 programmable buttons, the feature I like the most. It is made from heavy plastic and very well made for the price. I programmed the top buttons for COPY & PASTE, the wheel button for CUT and the side buttons for FORWARD & BACKWARD. Works in Windows 7 & 8.1, but not on a MAC. Google its reviews. Most reviewers are surprised how good it is for the price.

I use the Microsoft trackball explorer. I own 4 of them, and have taken one to work for the past 8 years. They don't make them anymore, so I hope nothing ever happens to mine. But I do have extras so I can suffer a couple of failures.
