i had a bad experience with 7, because I bought a laptop with starter on it, so I could BARELY do anything.

Well Windows 7 starter isn't exactly the best version of 7 to be judging it on.

I like Windows 8, but then I've not had any problems with it and find it quite easy to find things and work with.

No, Windows 8/8.1 is great! A little glitchy here and there but I'm digging it!

Yes, but voters might be a bit confused, since 8.1 is a little advanced 8, but then again 8.1 still sucks.

I have used 8 since beta and throughout the RC version and I bought it the same day, it was released and the same day I began to hate it. For starters RTM was not anything like RC version. I am not IT Pro, but I know stuff and I had to google how to open control panel in 8 for 3 hours, because at first I have had to find out, how to even get to desktop, open explorer or even IE. Yes the Start menu would have really helped, I have used it for shortcuts, since taskbar does not allow to launch applications the way Vista allowed it, in 7 and 8 they get merged into a mess and narrow icons, which are hard to click onto. Then everything else, like it takes min 3 secs to open control panel, if you manage to hit the corner right in comparison to one click in half second thought the Start. I am not even gonna mention the charm menu, you are left with a hope, that it will eventually appear when you point the mouse there, just like aborigines hope for a rain. I prefer to work fast and 8 turned Windows into a nightmare. I wait for 9, that might turn 8 into something usable, like 7 did Vista.

    Vista and Win7

8.1 is a good system - although I still have most of my systems on 7 and one on Vista. Just two are 8.1. I am cheap, LOL.

Nothing wrong with Windows 8. Love the OS and the ability to customize and love the new start menu.

Windows 7 starter is very limited to personalisation. Can't even change the background with it.

Hi there To those who say Touch will never have a place on the traditional Desktop I suggest they look at some reviews of the just released GALAXY S4 phone where a lot of the touch screen movements can be done via EYE scrolling technology -- IMO this is a total BALL CHANGING GAME. The technology...
Hi there This is just a note to people who think it's too much hassle to backup their systems. Just recently I needed to swap from a SAMSUNG 830 128 GB SSD to the newer 840 250 GB SSD on my laptop. Plugging the new SSD into a USB2 (not even USB 3) slot I restored a previous system image that...
I know the complaints all you haters have. I know you think that the Desktop isn't prominent enough. I know you want a Start menu on the Desktop. I'm aware of all of this. In fact, up until yesterday, while I loved Windows 8 RP, it did feel a bit awkward going from Desktop to Metro all the...
