Only people that will start a flame war are those who are insecure.

I like OS X, its a better version of linux in my opinion. (It was based of Unix/Linux right?)

I would use it on my laptop if they made it for PC's. Honestly it would work especially if they just let the OSx86 community help with KEXT's for PC hardware. I would love to run both OS X and Windows side-by-side on a PC.

I believe Mac OS is based off of UNIX, yes.

While I've never been a Mac fan (the hardware is just too expensive) I'd probably use OS X if it was made for PC's along with Windows.

I've modified nearly everything in this machine...what I HAVEN'T changed is the DVD drive, case, and motherboard. I think I added just about everything else I use.
Linux is far better than MAC only thing is little bit of tweaking needed for linux...
1.Hundreds of Distros to choose
2.Open source...
3.Better Hardware Compatibility
so on....

Yeah, I know, but I have everything I need in Windows to go through the process (I did make a Tiger hackintosh not too long ago, but it's Tiger and kind of old...)

Everything aside from my graphics on my laptop work perfectly on OSx86 iDeneb 10.5.7

My graphics will not go higher then 1024x768 even with editting the boot.plist, I read on insanelymac in the genius bar that they have almost made a kext to make the GMA 4500 work (thats my graphics) so that should be good and yes i know I am just going on and on and on and ohhh halo 3 brb

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, the fact that my laptop is a single core Celeron apparently makes it tough to use Leopard with (this I tried just the other day, and other people with the same model laptop I have are having the same issue); I have a desktop (which I'm on now) that I may look into using once Snow Leopard hits, but again, the urge to use Mac OS isn't a big enough one to test this immediately.

But that's awesome it's up and running nearly perfectly for you. :)

Agree with the allowing OSX on PC's. The appeal of OS X for hackintosh users is something different and not supported. Something to tinker with and get working, just the thrill of having what we are not suppose to have. Get it?

I also agree, I believe this would be nothing but positive for Apple because I'm sure the number of OS X users would skyrocket.

Yeah, since many do not buy Mac's on the price alone, if they made OSX (PC) available then they would gain a great market share.

I like them too but can't we still have both?

I have no interest in running an Apple OS at all. No need to appear 733t, kewl or with it. Anything I need to do I can do with my present setup, or will when W8 is released!

No need to flame me on it (I won't respond to flames), just my personal opinions...

MacOS
= promising flavor of a specialized BSD kernel (Darwin) with a slick window manager and easy to use package manager, etc. Otherwise, it's just another flavor of *nix in my view. Unfortunately it wants to lock people out of playing around with the power under its hood because after all, it's published by Apple, who wants to be even more controlling, dominating, and elitist than Microsoft. I'd rather run another flavor of Linux such as Ubuntu, Gentoo, DSL, etc.

Windows = I'm stuck with it if I want to play the latest PC games right out of the box, without having to mess around with Wine settings and other crud in Linux. Windows Vista made me dread my continued use of Windows as my primary OS, as I was tempted many, MANY times to make a complete switch to Linux (only my server and HTPC/media-PC run Linux right now). I not only skipped Vista, I avoided it entirely. I avoided learning it, avoided helping people troubleshoot it, avoided installing it, avoided buying it, and gave people recommendations to keep using XP.

Thank God for Windows 7! It gave me hope that Microsoft is capable of being a serious player in the O/S market that will hopefully overcome that 90s mentality and learn from their Vista mistake, because they didn't learn from their Windows Millennium (ME) mistake.

The only Windows operating systems ever worthwile to me: MS-DOS 5-6.2/6.22, Windows 2.0, 3.11FW, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows 7.

Windows 1.0, 3.0, 95, 98 (first edition), NT (3.1), NT 3.5x, Millennium, and Vista all reeked of serious fail.

Linux/BSD = ultimate control, ultimate security, ultimate performance, ultimate speed of updates, plain and simple, in many different flavors. Learning it, though, and making a switch to it, is not everyone's cup of tea. I understand and accept that.
