Wouldn't mind having one, (or two), of these for devices!
I'd hate to shell out $200 and find out my device doesn't support it though!

It's pretty amazing how much portable storage has evolved. That's the equivalent of about 88,888 1.44MB floppy disks. So at 3.3mm thick, the disks would be about 293.33m (962ft) high if they were stacked up, or nearly the height of 'The Shard'.

And they say the consumer market is quite a bit behind the military, so it kinda makes you wonder what technology is out there that we don't know about yet.

I have this 64GB MicroSD card in my Asus Transformer which works very well. I use it for data storage, backups and images.

These microSD cards blow my mind. I worked in IBM's disk drive business for 20 years, started out working on the IBM 3350 disk drive.

It was the size of a washer/dryer pair, had 2 disk packs each holding 300MB and required 220VAC. A 128GB microSD card holds as much data as 212 of those drives!

I worked at the main facility in San Jose where bldg 026 was and worked in a few different bldgs in my 20 years there: 004, 005, 012, 051, 076 & 077. Santa Theresa was a programming lab a few miles south. The main facility is gone now, they are building a mall and condos there. The Santa Theresa lab is still there but has been renamed to Silicon Valley lab.

I have not been there in many years. I was there from 70 to 74 when we developed the VSAM access method. I have been in the new Santa Theresa lab out in the boonies (at least it was the boonies 25 years ago). I had a house only 1 mile down the road from the plant site. It was a good time. When I got there, a 3 bedroom house cost $20.000.

A Desktop and touch interface. OK, the arguments are there that touch and Desktop DO NOT GO TOGETHER. There's the other argument that Windows 8 is covering too much ground and will loose too many users as it doesn't know what it is. A tablet and a Windows Desktop based operating system do not mix....
