Just what I've been waiting for :)

Don't mind at all. I bought the phone outright and went with a AT&T $40/mo prepay plan that includes unlimited call minutes, unlimited domestic and foreign text, and 200mb data. When I lived in the north woods I did, but don't need a whole lot of data for I live around the big city. There's WiFi most everywhere. At home, of course, our local watering whole we hang at, most restaurants, and stores.

I think you have satellite for data if I remember right. If you're thinking of getting one and tethering, remember this is 4G LTE. I know you live in a remote area. How close are you to a tower? And would that tower support 4G? I realize it would use earlier gens, but they'll say it's a 4G phone to try and sell you a 4G plan that you may never use or use very little if traveling near a 4G tower. Quite frankly, I don't trust any of these service providers. AT&T boasts of the largest 4G area, but we'll see how it goes. Oft times paying for a 3G plan with Vz I would only get 1G. That's one of the tactics these companies use to jack up prices.

Thanks for the reply! I do happen to live within 3 miles of cell tower that supports 4G, so what I am currently using is a Verizon 4G Mobile Hotspot, which costs me $50 a month for 5 Gbs of data. I would like to add a smart phone, but simply can't justify the extra cost.

Same for me.. I can't justify that much extra to just own a Smart phone.. I'm one mile from the AT&T office. no personnel but installers , etc there..
A tower is close to me.. plus I have my own hotspot.. with my router.( my phone gets 4 G lite here )

Its good to know I'm not the only one in this world who doesn't have a smart phone.

The only problem I see is that it may only be offered exclusively through at&t. I'm contacting MS/Nokia to see if I can purchase this outright to go prepay. I don't want contracts.

LJay hi.. I'm doing well... it's still quite cold here.. we finally make it up to about 60 degrees today,
then later this week, we get another blast from our west. I recall reading this will be a bad winter, that causes me to wonder
what we may have later in FEB. and March , when we usually get our worst weather in Winter.

We have had quite warm temps Christmas week, I've had to run the AC..
we have crazy temps all year round now it seems.

I really like Windows 8 on my laptop so far. The only issues I have had on it is one driver that won't update (finger scroll, so kinda a big deal), and the occasional delay when hitting the windows key. One thing I really can't wait to get my hands on is the Surface Pro. I have only got to mess...
