Very cool Art, TV star, dog lover, beer brewer My brother used to make beer. I'm a rare drinker, usually a beer or possibly 2 at a family gathering or party, so I'm no expert. But his beer was good, and seemed to pack a punch!

Thanks! I can't have any alcohol (medical condition), but I really enjoy making beer and mead for family and friends. Seeing the family enjoy what I brewed at yesterday's Thanksgiving dinner made me feel good!

I thought this was a 70s thing. My Father told me they had ads on TV for making beer and wine making kit's you could purchase.

The homebrewing and meadmaking hobbies have changed considerably in the past 20 years, so the stuff available in the 70's was primitive, at best. It's been around awhile but there are quite a few people brewing their own beer and mead. I'm in IT and many IT people like to brew, it's fun and gives us a chance to be a little creative...

So that's why there was a explosion of microbreweries that sprang up. Wine cellars also. Those that got tired of IT went into business.

My father visited last night and he tried my honey-cherry wheat beer and loved it. He said "it's even better than Sam Adams Cherry Wheat", which is a compliment coming from him. I'll brew a few more over the holidays as I have a week off and I'm trying to get caught up so when I'm recovering from shoulder surgery, my stash of homebrew for family and friends (I don't drink) doesn't run low. I have 8 beers on tap right now...

Just My opinion.. Windows in the Win8 version is not suited for home use any longer. It is overly complex, and, even for experienced Windows users, it is counter intuitive in many areas. I think Windows 8 has taken complexity “one bridge too far” for ordinary users. This comment by me, a MSEE...

Home Theatre in General Support
I think Windows 8 will be great for people like me with Home Theatre setups, with the big tiles everything is a lot easier to see. I hope MS puts a lot of effort into MCE as I can see them becoming the Apple of Media consumption. Once the online store starts selling Music and Movies etc, I can see...
