I'm actually looking forward to the cheap 7" RT tablets

I was looking at iPads yesterday (my mom decided she needed one, and I wasn't able to convince her otherwise). While she was talking to the sales rep, I played with the Surface and another one I don't remember.

I found it to be pretty functional, and I figured I'd use it a fair bit for note taking and small tasks like that. Not having Steam would be a downer, but there's a lot of games in the store that I like, enough to satisfy my wants.

$499 is a pretty good price, but I don't need one that badly.

The I remembered the rumors that Blue add support for smaller screen sizes, which would presumably be used in smaller tablets. I'd be perfectly happy with a little bit smaller tablet for $300 or so.

well, cheaper can really only help sales. That is the biggest complaint with the surface.

Rumour has it there will be a 7" Surface. That'd be awesome.

Apple did it with the iPad, it only makes sense that the Surface would follow the same trend.

Then the ipad mini started to cannibalize ipad sales for apple... Which is probably why steve jobs didn't allow that...

I'm in current possession of a Surface RT tablet, and I must say it is legit! Windows Blue's improvements to RT will REALLY make a big difference for sure. But for 7 inch tablets, I'm not sold on those yet.

Does anyone know if Windows 8 Phone, or indeed Android and iPhones - can be used as a modem to download internet data onto a Windows 8 RT Tablet with no 3G/4G? Could this be why there are a number of Windows 8 RT Tablets eg Ms Surface RT and Samsung Ativ Tab - that has no 3G, but only wifi?...

yo guys I was wondering if you could give me a quick rundown on tablets? To be honest, I used to hate the idea of tablets, but now that they are getting more and more powerful, they are kinda just like more "portable laptops". that's what I'm looking for really. I'm relatively new to...
