That is probably the same generation that will find their car's steering wheel in the trunk. No need to discuss that any further. Let's pick that up again in 2 years when MS is broke - or maybe they are able to learn and will survive.

    Really?

You don't notch up 15 consecutive quarters of growth in a declining market without doing something right - so what's PC maker Lenovo doing right?

Lenovo is protecting enterprises from the waterboarding torture of the Microsoft Windows 8 operating system. The majority of Lenovo's enterprise shipments have Windows 7 installed...

...the machines are "downgraded" to Windows 7 by default. Of course, that's exactly what customers want - and Lenovo is reaping the benefit of listening to those customers.
Lenovo: Windows 8 is so good, everyone wants Windows 7

I don't understand what's with the idiotic steering wheel placement analogies and metaphors? They make no sense and everyone interprets that differently and they all sound idiotic.

You are funny. Do you read the articles - or just the headlines?

The pc market is down. Due in no small part to 8.

Nevertheless, Lenovo have managed to put out better product offerings and therefore got a larger share of a smaller market.

That is consistent with this :

...the machines are "downgraded" to Windows 7 by default. Of course, that's exactly what customers want
Which is the opposite of what you said :

No, they're offering it as AN OPTION, not default.

In spite of that - I think there is only a slim chance of competition appearing, therefore:

It is likely MS will be able to use their monopoly power to force this through.

The public will succumb as they have little choice.

They will "get used to it", and they will be pushed into the various monetising schemes MS has lined up for them.

I expect you will be delighted by that.
