So, I have a pile of Acer all in one computers at my place of work. I formatted one last week, turned of Secure Boot and went with a legacy boot to eliminate UEFI challenges during the imaging process.

After getting the source machine configured, I used Aomei backupper 1.1, booted in legacy mode, took an image of my MBR based DISK.

Then, I went into the back, grabbed another Acer All in One, which was still set in UEFI, with Secure Boot and GPT. I configured the BIOS to use BIOS, and disabled Secure Boot. I booted from my Aomei bootable (non-EFI) based USB key. Restored the image that I created above. Machine would not boot

Rebooted off the Windows 8 key, went to repair, advanced and tried the "automatic repair problems causing Windows not to boot option". Machine still wouldn't boot.

Went back into Repair with the Windows 8 key, ran diskpart and it showed that the restored disk was still GPT. So, I did a select disk 0, clean .

Restored my Aomei disk image again. The machine booted right up. No problems.
