    I believe that it's just plain stubborn pride. MS is sayingthis is the way we intended it to be and that's the way it's going to stay; noone is going to have the audacity to tell Microsoft that perhaps it could havebeen done in a better way.

    I am not so sure whether there is 'pride' at the top levels of MS. At lower levels, people are proud of the work they do and rightfully so. But at the CEO and the next level, the guys often don't even understand the intricacies of their products. They run the company purely by the financial numbers. And when it hurts in that department, they will swiftly order a different direction.

    I am sure there are many 'task forces' going on right now to figure out what should be done to get the ship back on track. They will report back to the board with a variety of options and then MS management will pick and move. These things don't happen over night. So we have to be patient.
