I just downgraded back to windows 7... Took me alot of effort but it was worth it. Unless you have a touchscreen tablet windows 8 is a disaster for anyone trying to be productive. I had various issues with running auto cad efficiently. And my workload effectiveness and efficiency at home decreased by as much as the amount of time I spent looking and aearching for features that used to be right in the open and that are hiding in windows 8. The biggest issue I had with autocad is that auto cad is designed to use the center wheel of a mouse to pan around drawings. But on windows 8, it moves your whole screen out and tries to zoom out. It's impossible to function on auto cad with this design. There are various other problems with this software and windows 8.
My laptop is pretty old from 2010 and I'll have to upgrade to a new work machine in the near future. Every new laptop has windows 8, i can't use it therefor I can't buy a new laptop with windows 8. Microsoft is forcing me to buy a mac.... I do not have any options left. You can't even buy a laptop with windows 7. And if you want windows 7, you have to go through a pain full process of getting downgrade rights.
Who is making decisions at microsoft?
