27 inch XD Monitor with 2,560x1,440 resolution

Hello Guys,

Have any of you got a 27 inch Extreme Definition Monitor running a 2,560x1,440 resolution, I just wondered what they look like, is there a noticeable difference and is it worth the extra £'s. What sort of video card would be needed to power it?

My current graphic card is a 512mb Gigabyte 9800GTX, would this card have enough power to run the monitor for normal computing and occasional mid setting gaming, I'm looking to upgrade the video card for a mid range card, some thing like Gigabyte NVIDIA GTX650Ti 2GB DDR5 PCI-E Graphics Card, does anyone see any problems running this on a 4 year old motherboard - Gigabyte GA-EX38-DS5.

    I did a fresh format and install of Windows 8 64 Bit Pro. Sorry but I couldn't live without a start button so I have installed the Start8 start menu which is great. I try sometimes not to use it but find metro frustrating to find programs as I have many. I will use Metro for apps only and desktop of serious computing.
I have a iMac 27" running both OS X and Windows 7, and have to say that win 7 looks awesome. . .:D

I have a EVGA GTX-660 SC and it's fantastic! You can pick one up for $200 here in the US. It's going into my son's new PC that I'm building him since I'm not a gamer but the card is extremely impressive and a good value at that price!
