Will there be a drama for Windows 7's Support Lifecycle

You may remember that Windows XP ended it's mainstream support on 2009, far away from when it was supposed to (2006, 2001 + 5 years of mainstream support).

Windows 7 beats XP in popularity and usage, but will there be an extension of Mainstream Support drama on Windows 7?

It is possible but until then we'll also see Windows 9.
This is way to early to discuss about.
We got time till 2019 to think on this one.

The sun has about 5 billion years to go until the fuel supplies end but the clash between Milky Way and Andromeda can happen earlier.
Also a bit early to discuss is when in the next thousand years or more the star Belegeuse will become supernova and we'll have daylight even at night. Meanwhile the magnetic poles can shift as well and we might begin a new ice age. Weather asteroid Apophis will exterminate us in 2036 is still a mystery.

    Sorry for the text.
But I like future talk so I'll vote with yes, assuming all the Metro haters will join forces and stick to Win7 because Win9 will (most likely) have Metro as well. But people can make any other OS look like Win7 after all it depends how deeply they are attached to it and how many companies will use it for a very long time near the end of support.

    Hi there
a much more likely outcome for a HYPERNOVA - could happen any day now and would be visible from Earth even at mid day and at night for several weeks the sky would be brighter than a clear sky with a Full moon is when ETA CARINAE explodes. -- In fact it could already have happened - but we can't tell because of the time light / radiation takes to reach us.

That supernova thing would probably be the millennium's event just like it happened in 1024AD. Night becomes day for a week or two...

I think there will be some drama about the support for Windows 7, though it will be probably futile considering support is there for around the year 2022. By which time, we better freaking have flying cars, NUIs, and uber insane processing power.

But, ideally, the proper enterprise would upgrade every two Windows versions from now on. Windows 7 to Windows 9, Windows 8 to Windows 10. That is considering if Windows is released every two years, so every four years in the enterprise, ideally.

Great speculation about future things, guys!

By the time Windows 7 support ends there will surely be a reason to move up to something newer. If it's not there with Windows, I'm sure some snazzy little tablet/phone/palm-sized gizmo will be there as an alternative.

I saw something the other day where manufacturers are working on gestures as a means of communicating with a computer. A wave of the hand, nod of the head, or something else could replace the point-and-click or touch-sensitive means of input we've become accustomed to using.
