Hi there
This is not I'm sure what Google was founded for -- An "Unofficial Police Database"

BBC News - Google Transparency Report shows rise in data requests

Seems like the law enforcement agencies in the USA are making very big use of this (probably cheaper and more efficient than relying on their own Federal facilities).

So if you search for Torrents etc --- your search enquires could be stored by the Police etc - even if you didn't access those torrent sites.

BBC News - Google's anti-piracy move prompts file-sharers' reply

However always phrase your questions in such a manner so you get an "Indirect Search" -- this is likely to lead to "Innocuous sites" which then have indirect or direct links to what you want and is FAR FAR harder to monitor securely.

The idea of the Internet is for MORE freedom not MORE CONTROL by central Govt agencies.

Cheers
jimbo

Which is partly the reason why I use Bing, partly the reason why the CEO of Mozilla requested that users switch to Bing over google for a time, and also google is piddling me off with being a baby with their services on Windows Phone.

When you look at google and their services, a government or third party can see your email, your searches, the videos you watch, the people you socialize with on google+, the people you call or IM, the documents you make, and adverts you click on, and SO much more. Bing and Outlook are the same, but to me, Microsoft seems to give a better notion that they're more concerned with user privacy. They've set IE 10 settings by default so you're not being tracked down as well as not setting the Bing suggestions in the search bar of IE 9 and 10 UNLESS the user decides to. I don't know, maybe it's because Bing isn't so heavily used that Microsoft is taking the stance of user privacy concerns as google doesn't, and that's how they want Bing to be known.

Also, use proxy servers.

No worries here, whenever I am on the computer I ware a tin foil hat, and my house (7600 feet above sea level) has a metal roof with a Teflon finish. The metal blocks the signal and the Teflon finish helps it slide off. Albeit, at this time of the year there can be up to three to four feet of snow on the roof which also helps keep Google out. . .

That's unfortunate...

Guess I may need to switch to Bing or DuckDuckGo... Although Bing feels weird.

:roflmao: Nice choice! And good location. That's what I'm gonna build too.
And the metal will form a magnetic Faraday Cage and we can protect ourselves from the solar explosions possible as well. :thumb:

They might be tunnelling underneath?
Hmmm... Yeah a metal shield wall is needed under the basement as well. Note that down Lee. :)

Well, that's good to know. I'm switching to BING.
Me too. I'll see how it goes right away.
And they got great wallpapers on homepage!
