Solved Use of Metro in the New Myspace?

Does anybody else have the new MySpace beta? I've had it for a bit over a month now and I must say, I see a lot of design elements that really compliment Windows 8 Style/Metro UI Design.

The emphasis on typography, sideways scrolling, somewhat tile-based and sans-serif fonts seem to emulate Metro UI.

Has anyone else noticed that?

Yep, I noticed it too when it was first revealed.

Also, I've been noticing the past year, more software, online services, and companies adopting concepts of the metro design form along with flatter logos and less over the top 3D nonsense. Case in point, gmail, YouTube, itunes 11, USA Today, and mysapce among others.

It seems someone or something sparked a digitally authentic design movement that isn't based around apple's design form..... I wonder who or what.... :)
