Exactly. That is the reason why I stay away from /8 too. And since I will not need a new PC in the near future, I will probably skip /8 (unless they do something fantastic with SP1 or SP2).
No SP. MS has indicated it will not be doing SPs, instead they will do like Apple and issue updates that will be geared toward changes in the OS and not just virus or malwear.
Yeah, I heard this. This blue stuff with which they want to generate a more constant revenue flow. We'll see how that works out.

    Good one!

But as long as there is something that makes life easier* they'll skip the hard(er)** work.

I think at the time most win 8 user are just waiting to see if these will work. If they do look at this as a new form of cash flow then MS will have to look at making some major changes so they can appraise the win 8 haters. . .more to come around June of 2013.

The main thing they have to do is to provide more interesting function. Just slamming a new UI on the same old will not do.

Windows 8 is absolutely as usable as Windows 7. If you include one of the Start Button add-ins you really can't tell that its not Windows 7 except you can play with the Windows 8 apps if any of them interest you.

Hi All! I just got my laptop back from the Lenovo Repair Center in Texas after they replaced the bad hard drive & keyboard, (and wiped off everything!!!). I'd like to upgrade my Video Card but know nothing about them. The reason is probably because I'm not a gamer. I have a homebuilt using a Gigabyte 880GM-USB3 motherboard and I'm currently using the onboard video which I believe is ATI Radeon 4250. I'm running W8.1 with AMD FX4100 Quad Core using...
