    Ethernet Cables

So, today marks the day I became wireless on everything. Since my PC had no Wi-Fi support, I used a cable to deliver internet to my PC. Anyone else still using a cable for internet?

    Mmmm...

Yeah, only the laptop is wireless. Everything else is using CAT 6E and CAT 7 for 50 Mb/s download with the cable company. Wired is much fast than wireless for me.

Where I live a wired internet connection is my best option, as the cost is much cheaper than wireless and the capabilities are about the same.

Well, I have been using wireless adapters and noticed a slight speed delay when downloading something, such as a 5 MB setup. My PC has a wireless adapter now and it works the same as a wired connection, weird huh?
Anyway here where I am wireless seems to work fine, and whenever Google Fiber can cover the whole US, I will be all for it.

The majority of my stuff is on wired internet in my house. My laptop, my phone and my tablet are the only wireless devices. My desktops, my server, my Xbox360, my PS3 these are all connected to a gigabit network via network cables. I wouldn't have it any other way. I get nearly 80MB/sec across my wired network, that blows the doors off my 802.11g network.

My cables are already run and I have a switch in my living room and my office area, so plugging in is an absolute piece of cake.

In my house, we live by Ethernet on desktops, wireless on mobile PCs and devices. It is a literal drag to have a cable plugged into a laptop.

And yes, I am waiting for the day gigabit service comes to my area, let along fiber optic! Three decades here.

Half the PC's in our house are wireless and half are still wired. The server is in the basement as is my "lab", so wired is easy there. We move PC's around a lot, so a few WIFI cards for the desktops really help. I have Ethernet in conduit going to my detached garage on the alley since WIFI was slow and unreliable when I built the garage (1998).
