I am loving my Cyan 920! My wife has a white one. They are sturdy built phones and do everything I need it to with great ease. I can't stress enough how awesome the camera is!!!

Now if my charging plate would get here, all would be right with the world!!

azasadny: Thanks for the info you posted on this phone, you really pushed me toward it over the Note, and I couldn't be happier

Geeve, I'm glad you got the L920, I think you'll be very happy with it. When my wireless charger arrived, it was black, but I don't really care. I keep it on the bedside table so I just set the phone down at night and pick it up in the AM, no plug to disconnect (or forget to disconnect). We never know ehen we're going to get an emergency phone call during the night (older parents, you know) and the wireless charger is great for this application. I want to get the FatBoy pillow for the center console of my car so I can just drop the phone on the "pillow" to charge it and pick it up when I leave the car, although at $80, it's a little steep and hard for me to justify at this point...

Yeah I was looking at the energizer QI double charger for the kitchen counter so both my wife and can charge at night at the same point and I can take the plate to work. I do like that you can just plop it down and not have to worry about fiddling with cables. My wife has hers by the bed because she surfs the webs late some nights and loves that she doesn't have to find the cable in the dark to charge it.

    Mr Elop,

I know you are a very busy man, so I will get right to the point. I have owned the Nokia Lumia 920 for a month now and I have not been this impressed by any consumer product in a long time. I got rid of my iPhone 3GS and made the switch to a Windows 8 phone and once I researched the likely candidates, your 920 model fit all of my requirements. Fortunately, my AT&T contract was up and I was able to start a new contract on 11/9 and that also happened to be the date your 920 was available at the AT&T store. What a fantastic "out of the box" experience! Just the tactile experience tells you "this is a well-made item" and the performance and screen do not disappoint!

I've experienced several minor software-related issues, which are to be expected with a brand-new hardware and software platform and they have been relatively easy to fix. Everything that I've wanted to do with my iPhone but couldn't, I can easily and effortlessly do with your 920. I don't know whom I respect and admire more, your designers or your engineers, as the product shines in both these areas.

As an IT professional with over 20 years of experience, I've seen enough new "whizz bang" new technology that fails to deliver that I've become somewhat jaded and cynical. Thank you for restoring my faith in a technology company to create and bring to market such a high quality, exciting product! You have my sincere respect and appreciation.

    Nice one, Art!

You're a good example to all. We need more praise in this world for sure.

Stephen's reply is at the top...

    "Thanks for the great note!

    Regards, Stephen"

He's Canadian, so his reply is brief and to the point! After working in IT support for 20 years, I know only too well that positive feedback is rare and too often the only feedback is negative, so I make it a point to give positive feedback as well as negative, whichever is appropriate.

Sometimes, you get a nice surprise. When I visited Ruger's website and told them how happy we are with the Ruger LCP pistol, a few weeks later, a package arrived from Ruger and it was a very nice baseball cap with their logo, which I proudly wear to the pistol range!

I am up for my new-in-two come January 3rd. I was in the Vz site this morning to pay my bill and decided to see what they have to offer so far as phones. Ugh! I'd guess 98% is iCrap and And-Avoid! And their prices are becoming astronomically rediculous!

I don't think I'll upgrade for I want to get out of under contracts, buy new (unlocked), and go prepay. That's my goal, anyway. I have my heart set on the Lumia. This is what they offer today if one buys outright -> Only two Windows 8 phones.

Nokia Lumia 822 -> Full Retail Price $449.99! OUCH!
BTW, here's what they're claiming on battery specs:
    1800 mAh Li–Polymer
Usage Time – up to 15.07 hrs OR (<- What's this OR mean?)
Standby Time – up to 20.25 days

Are these possible to achieve, Art?

Windows Phone 8X by HTC -> Full Retail Price $549.99??!!!
Are you kidding me?!! It's like the identical twin in specs of the Lumia!

What I found interesting is a Samsung Brightside with Qualcomm's BREW MP operating system that looks like it mimics the Windows 8 screen. It has rectangles similar to tiles.

Then I got into the iCrap section, which is on the same phone page. Ridiculus prices so far as I'm concerned. Get this:
    iPad mini 16GB $459.99 - 32GB $559.99 - 64GB $659.99
    iPad with 16GB $629.99 - 32GB $729.99 - 64GB $829.99

And oooooo! A lot of iMe Key Features for the full pad:
    9.7-inch Retina display with Multi-Touch
    A6X chip with quad-core graphics
5MP iSight camera with 1080p HD video recording
    FaceTime HD Camera
Up to 10 hours of battery life
    iOS6 and iCloud
Over 275,000 apps on the App Store

I saw two other pads. The first is similar to the iPad Mini. The second to the full iPad.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 going for $399.99
    4G Technology
    Thinnest 4G LTE Tablet
    7.7" Super AMOLED plus Display
    Dual-Core 1.4GHz Processor & 1GB RAM
Peel Smart Remote and Built-in IR Blaster
3.2 MP Camera & 2 MP Front Facing Camera
    Samsung Approved For Enterprise (SAFE)

    Samsung Galaxy® Tab 2
    Full Retail Price -> $499.99
    6.9" (H) x 10.1" (W) x .38" (D) inches
    Weight: 20.5oz
    4G LTE, CDMA/1xEVDO Rev A (800/1900 MHz)
    Operating System
    Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich
    Memory / Processor
8GB internal (actual formatted memory is less)
microSD™ Card support, up to 64GB (sold separately)
    10.1" 1280x800 WXGA 16M color TFT
    Virtual QWERTY
    7,000 mAh
Usage time – up to 12 hrs OR
Standby time – up to 624 hrs
    Body: 1.39 w/kg

    And ooooo! -> Key Features:
Stay entertained on a large 10.1-inch HD screen
Thousands of movies and TV shows at your fingertips
Turn this Android tablet into a remote and control your TV, DVR and surround-sound system
Productivity and multitasking features help you get more done
Seamlessly share photos, documents and more with select devices
Write an email while watching your favorite home video
    Capture and share
Browse the web like you are on a desktop computer

I think the Surfaces are looking better all the time.

I don't know how much I can get the Lumia for under contract, but I won't be buying anything from Vz any time soon for sure!

I can't speak to any other Nokia phone except the 920 and I can easily get 12 hours out of a full charge, with moderate use (BT, WiFi, email, calls and checking FB and weather, etc...). I STRONGLY recommend the L920, but that forces you to go to AT&T... The 2 year contract bring the upfront cost to $100, which includes a wireless charger.

I was taught that if "you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all", so I will not say anything about iPhones...

If you ask me, All smart phones are over priced. It's like all phone manufacturers stick together and charge high prices so we don't have a choice but to pay it. Same thing with cell phone service. We are getting ripped off.
