    WHEA BSOD with clean install

I've struggled with random hangs (where my laptop freezes before any BSOD) on both Windows 8 and 10, and decided to downgrade to Windows 8 again after being on Windows 10 for a while. After reinstalling Windows 8 with no wifi and updates disabled, I got a WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR BSOD. After drivers were reinstalled using Snappy Driver Installer, however, I only get random hangs again with no BSODs. The laptop works fine in safe mode.

I'd really appreciate any help or suggestions that people could give - this has been a long-standing problem, so if I can't fix it I think it's time for a new laptop : (

reports attached here (before and after drivers were installed):

First step, make sure Windows is up to date to prevent false positives when troubleshooting.

Freezes are IMHO more difficult to troubleshoot than BSODs, because freezes rarely leave usable traces behind in logs.

It seems many updates have failed to install.
    Please try following:

    • Open an admin command prompt
    • Copy/paste "sfc /scannow" (without quotes) and press enter
    • When it is finished reboot your system
    • Open again an admin command prompt
    • Enter sfc/scannow again

If sfc/scannow says "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them" after the second SFC, please upload the cbs.log file located at %systemroot%\Logs\CBS\, if the file is too large try a 3rd party uploader like dropbox, onedrive, google drive, mediafire etc.
System File Check(SFC a.k.a. Windows Resource Protection) needs to have your system rebooted in order for sfc to try to fix the problems that it finds.
