Solved New Bugcheck BSOD's, 1001/0x80000000000000

I moved my Motherboard and all HDD's, and PCcards into a different case about 2 days ago and I just started gertting this particular Bugheck, it's the 1001 [FONT=&amp]0x80000000000000

The only thing I changed was my Power supply, to a Mad Dog power supply, I assumed it had enough power to drive an AMD, it was in an Intel Pentium Server tower, I also moved all of my HDDs inside, I had a few outside the box, but they were always connected to the main power supply.

I'll have to add my Dump files. I was running a DISM restorehealth and it locked up during that, don't know how far it got, may try it again. But this system had been running 24/7 for the last few years with no issues.

I managed to run the full DISM restore health, it's definitely found some corruption and said that it fixed it. I'm running and SFC /scannow just to see if it finds anything else.

I'm wondering if I shouldn't just try to do an in place install and I'm also wondering if the change in the power supply might be causing a dip in the current that might be triggering this error. I didn't check the specs on the power supply before I put it in but I assumed it was at least 400 W. It was powering a server tower for the last seven years until that motherboard finally went out but there was nothing wrong with the power supply.

SFC /scannow found even more corruption and fixed that as well, i'll upload the CBS.log in a little bit.

I'm running Windows update and it hasn't given me the regular error after a few seconds like it always does and it hasn't crashed yet, actually most of this started after I tried to repair my windows update using a tool I downloaded from tweaking.com, which did more than the regular WUpdate.diagcab does. That didn't help, still can't get windows updates.

Btw, i'm still using Windows 8 original version, build 9200.

It renews every 30 days, it just turned over actually, I have no idea why it's like that, it's always been like that, ever since I originally installed it. This machine has been running 24/7 that way since I joined these forums. My activation may be messed up?

Unfortunately I lost my sticker so I might have to buy a new activation. But I just need to know if my activation is bad.

Edit: Ever since I ran DISM and SFC /scannow, it hasn't been BSODing ever 20 minutes like it was doing. But I did have one Bugcheck yesterday PM, almost 24 hours after I ran those repairs. I remember shortly after I originally installed this version of 8, I used to get a black screen with a cursor, I had to run an in-place install, maybe that did something. But that was over 4 years ago...

(It still hasn't BSOD'd again today, if it happens at the same time daily, Ill contact MS and check my activation. Hell I don't even know my key!)

It finally BSOD'd on my early this AM, I made another zip, unfortunately, the dumping tool did not create a zip file, lt left some files in a folder on my desktop. so it's not complete. This is all I got, I dumped it here.

(edit 3) Forgive me my verbose posts on this, I'm just trying to provide all of the details. Well, a new development came up. I put my install medium in, and started an In-Place install. It got up to the point where it asks "what do you want to keep?" - And it's BLANK. That's never happened before. Maybe my installer is bad? But they provide a link in the case that area is blank, which suggested I MUST install 8.1 now. I don't WANT 8.1, I want the only true version of Windows 8 that I ever installed, which has been working flawlessly for the last 4 years. I just need to know if I am going to be forced to update this to 8.1 now if I want to do an In Place install? Because everywhere I checked said I should still be able to do an 8.0 in place install.

HELL! I had another one. It's not creating full logs now, can you check these to see if they are doing anything different? They have the dump files at least

Groan. I've been in my windows seven partition on the same machine for almost all of the day since 7 o'clock in the morning and I'm getting application hangs every five minutes to 30 minutes depending on what apps I'm running. I only loaded that partition... oh hell It just did it again, right in the middle of a check disk operation.

I'm thinking this is probably the different power supply I put in rather than anything wrong with the operating system I'm pretty sure my activation is Jacked somehow even though I don't remember doing it. Because my Windows 7 installation is not hacked in anyway shape or form, and I'm getting these application hangs very frequently now.

I'm going to go back into the windows eight system and see how long it takes it to blue screen. After that I'm going to put the original power supply back in. This might explain what happened to that server that was in the box, if there was something wrong with the power supply I figured it was the motherboard.

Depending on what happens after I do that ill marked this solved or not

Sorry, I filled up that other post with edits. If it's policy that I should keep on editing the other post before making a double post, I apologize. But this is starting to be a big problem now.

This has got to be Hardware, 2 different power supplies, two different OSes, Win 7 has severe app hangs, Win 8 gets random Bugchecks - This time, even while booting.

Q: If one of my HDDs or other hardware had questionable power connections, even my 12v CPU connector, would that cause this? Because I'm using several IDE to SATA power adapters, and they are quite cheap and I'm not sure if they are providing a solid electrical connection.

Would that cause this, at this point I'm not worried about my activation, I'll buy a new activation if I have to and if I can (for windows 8.0). But I don't want 8,1, I want 8, if I can get that repaired and reactivated correctly.

Even my WinRE/Recovery tools Flash Driv e is hanging now. Right in the middle of hardware tests. This machine was working perfectly until I moved it into the Antec tower. Nothing wrong with the tower, or my hardware that I know of.

I'm going to test my RAM right now, But if anyone can see if I have any hardware issues in the logs I posted, Please let me know. I can't get caught up in activation at this point, not until I KNOW that my hardware is OK (or not). I can replace my CPU and Ram for cheap, just need to know if any of these logs show any hardware failures, because I can't deciper them.

I had booted up to Hiren's and I was checking the integrity of each HDD. I was able to witness, when I tried to access a large seagate storage drive, that the system froze momentarily and that drive was inaccessible afterwards. So I d/c'd that drive and then booted to Win 7 then 8, and the system didn't hang or Bugcheck. So far. We'll see tomorrow.

So it's either the power connection or the data cable that's gone blooey, and when the drive would stall, that's when I got the BSOD in 8 or the apphang in 7. We'll see what happens tomorrow.

When WinRE is hanging its a RAM issue in 99% of the cases.

Thank you, for your help, I ran Memtest, for quite a while, no issues there. However, I found out what this is. I knew it was Hardware, so I checked all of my HDDs. One of my main storage drives has a SMART Power issue, the power will fail randomly. I should have known, this has happened before on my Main Win 7 machine. In that case, the system was hanging up, so I replaced the HDD. In the case of Windows 8, the drive was on the SATA bus- So when it would power off, it would cause the Bugcheck, even though there are no system files on that drive. And it was doing it in Windows 7 too, so that was a sign that it wasn't the OS.

I took the affected HDD out of my Case, and I put it into an external enclosure. Sure enough, after a few minutes, the drive stopped reading and it fell off of the USB bus. I ran the WDDiag on it, and it failed to finalize the test.

I bought the drive in 2014, fortunately, the drive had a warranty up until 2019. So I just created an Advanced RMA and they'll ship out a replacement, then I can dupe the drive and then ship the bad one back (And get my deposit back which is always great). WD has the best RMA service, them and Seagate which is why I buy those most of the time, as well as a few Hitachi's - But when the Hitachi's fail, it's instant with no grace period, but with WDs and Seagates, I can usually save my content.

So I'll mark this solved. And I'm glad that my Windows 8 installation seems to be OK. I have had no further Bugchecks since I removed the drive from SATA, Thanks once again, if I have any other issues I'll make a new thread in the appropriate forum,
