I think you saw an add, I didn't link anything...

What you need to do is revert back the changes this program has made and try to uninstall it.
You could do this all in one if there is a proper restore point available, or another system backup.

Yeah i think i should have realised that, it didnt make any changes cos it wanted money to do anything and i aint that silly, MBAM had a fit and removed it (i should have also guessed then) Its totaly gone off the system now
As i say i tried to manually update the driver and it said it was up todate i cant think of anything else apart from maybe the adapter is dying

The best source of drivers for a laptop is the laptop manufacturer
Sometimes Windows Update helps too, but the laptop manufacturer is enough in many cases.
What you could try is following
    1. Go to the support page of HP to search for drivers,
    2. Enter the model of your laptop, you could find it on the back of the laptop
    3. Do not download any program for searching for drivers if offered, search manually.
    4. Search for the wifi driver, download it and run it.
    5. Reboot after the installation is finished, whether it is asked for or not (usually is asked for)
