I am running a Windows 8 RP Build 8400 machine, and it freezes hard a few times a day. It used to be terrible until I completely eliminated the Page Files on my HDDs, and disabled C-States to allow my processor to run at my OCed 3.8 Ghz all the time.
System Specs
AMD Phenom II x6 1090t @ 3.8Ghz
G.Skill Sniper Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3-1600 RAM
GTX 560 1GB
GTX 260 Maxcore 55 (For Dedicated Physx)
Thermaltake Blackwidow 850w Modular PSU
1640GB WD Caviar Black HDDs
Now, when the system hard freezes, it seems to always be while web browsing or sitting at the desktop. However, when it freezes, it'll stay motionless for about 5 seconds, and then every single fan in my system will kick up to 100%.
There is zero activity to my HDD light as well.
Are there any more tips/tricks I can do to keep my gaming performance and minimize freezing?
