Hi

Built this PC september 2015 , ran witcher 3 until completion when first built and performed as expected on other games for 5 months

MSI H81MP33 mobo
G3258 @ 4GHz
GTX 760 2GB (Used)
4GB 1866MHz HyperX fury ram CL10
2GB 1600MHz HP OEM ram (Used)
Seagate 1TB HDD
600W 5 Year old PSU (brand stickers removed) (Used)

Issues arose 10 days ago , couldnt delete files from C;/ and windows became horrifically slow , opening any folder would take 3-5 seconds and populate very slowly. CHKDSK wouldnt run so I replaced HDD on warranty, new install of windows was still horrendously slow so I removed the 2GB stick of old ram and everything was seemingly fixed.

Installed LOL and got constant BSOD ,researched online and was told to run Intel Chipset Device software. This fixed the crashes for 5 days of about 6 hours use each day. Yesterday BSOD returned , same BSOD every time KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR

I ran memtest for 12 hours . no errors.

Any help would be appreciated , thanks.

Troubleshooting a counterfeit installation is useless as it is not known what has been modified to your system.
A counterfeit installation contains heavily modified code which causes the system to behave in unexpected ways.
For this reason, analyzing counterfeit systems is unreliable and most analysts won't try it.
I recommend to install a genuine copy of Windows.
If, after you have installed a genuine copy of Windows, you still get BSOD's we'll be happy to assist you.

God damn , another kick in the teeth. I installed windows on my old -presumably damaged- hard drive whilst at my old sixthform under their software scheme, so the errors were happening with a legitimate copy.

Luckily my current university offers a free copy also , will installing the key and running an update suffice so that you may assist me?

Thanks

You'll need to clean install Windows, KMSpico has altered some system files, only installing a genuine key isn't enough to get rid of the modifications too which likely contribute to the problem.
