Hello everyone. I've been having 2 errors practically everyday on my windows 8.1 laptop. They don't appear to be triggered by anything. The good news is I haven't been able to replicate these errors in safe mode. These are KERNEL_DATA_IN_PAGE and CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED. Unfortunately my system doesn't produce any dump files even though I have read online and tried every possible setting. I have however included a full report of my system.
Any help will be appreciated. I've done memory tests, cpu tests, all sorts of tests to no available. Every test is successful.
Please help before I go insane

update: uploaded new dump

Update your installation, most have a few 100 hotfixes installed
Code:
Hotfix(s): 17 Hotfix(s) Installed.

Another thing is that the zip is incomplete, several files are missing.

Thanks for your reply. How do I know which hotfixes are missing?
Also, what files are missing from my attached zip file? dm log collector didn't produce any files for me even after running as administrator. Used SF diagnostic tool instead.

Check WIndows Updates for updates, it may take some time to search.

A complete list of the minimum files present in a zip, 19 .txt, 1 .nfo and 1 or more .dmp.

scan disk fine. uploaded hd tests. hd tune pro gave an I/O error twice on the file benchmark test but finally worked. Not sure if it means anything

An I/O error means that there are problems accessing the data on the hard drive which indicates
  • hard drive failure
  • cable needs replacement
  • motherboard connection is faulty

It could be 1 of those, but it could also be multiple of them.

How is it going with Windows Update? The last upload still shows just 17 hotfixes installed.

Noticed I have missed this part in your OP  It rules out a lot of causes that mostly occur with the 0x7A(KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR)
Ran the whole day in safe mode 2 days ago
Usual causes of the 0x7A:
  • Memory, (hardware part ruled out)
  • Paging file corruption, (not 100% sure about this one)
  • File system, (not 100% sure about this one)
  • Hard drive, (ruled out)
  • Cabling, (ruled out)
  • Virus infection,
  • Improperly seated cards, (ruled out)
  • BIOS, (if correct ruled out)
  • Bad motherboard, (ruled out)

I downloaded and tried installing the hotfixes. Says not applicable to your computer even though I downloaded for windows 8.1.
TDSS Killer, Malware bytes e.t.c all report no issues.
Will run all of tomorrow in safe mode just to be sure everything works ok in safe mode. Last time I got no errors no matter how much I tried to stress the system

Some of them, like Malwarebytes, won't work as proper in safe mode as in normal mode.

noticed something. these errors sometimes happen when fully on battery power. However, sometimes when on battery for a while, if I plugin my ac adapter, the error comes up in about 20 seconds time or so. This has happened a number of times but I ignored it because the error happens on battery power too.

I have attached event logs from jan 9 to jan 11. You will notice system errors piling up from the 10th. Maybe something happened here?

There might also be something else.

It is possible windows update might be the problem. Specifically caused by the following windows update:

KB3012199

Now this particular update seems to be causing problems for lots of people, see

1. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...ndows-81/b208da09-d1c3-4e6a-b116-6343d013f588
2. https://social.technet.microsoft.co...ficulty-running-any-program?forum=w8itproperf

And microsoft even provides a fix:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2969039

If you read the link above you can see it says it's for fixing random stop errors. And also there's this portion:

This issue occurs because you close an SMB session before the session setup response is finished successfully. Therefore, the session setup response tries to access resource that does not exist.

And one of the error codes I get for the kernel data in page error is 0xFFFFFFFFC000000E which maps to STATUS_NO_SUCH_DEVICE
When it is critical process died error I get as one of my error codes c00000c0 which is STaTuS_DEVIcE_DOES_NOT_EXIST

Unfortunately after downloading this hotfix, it says it is not applicable to my computer. Even worse, I cannot uninstall KB3012199 to test my theory. The Uninstall button is not visible. Not sure what to do at this point. Maybe a system repair will help.

crashed in safe mode today. also got error while rebooting at some point today saying hard disk not detected. this was before startup. so looking like there is some sort of hard disk issue. maybe loose connection or failing ssd although all hard disk tests give no error whatsoever. any recommendations?

No test is always 100%, a good reason to not completely relay on the tests.

Replace the cable to see if the cable is the problem, if it doesn't help check the connections of the motherboard and the SSD and look for any kind of damage (bent or borked pins or something)

Apparently there is a known issue with my laptop model where the ssd becomes loose on the drive. Found this on a german site:

"I have spent the past month on the same model number of the Sony Vaio Pro 13 had the same problem. Having tried everything to have been a week since corrected the problem and the laptop again stable :)Cause of misery was a loose-fitting SSD (sometimes you got to start up the laptop already in the BIOS with the message that the SSD was not found).
Solution is to unscrew the laptop (see YouTube: OPEN ME UP Sony VAIO Pro 13 Disassembly ), the SSD as loosening (one screw), good restore and firmly screw it this time! "

Found the same info on french and the sony community sites as well. Will take it in for checking on Monday and see how it goes.
