I have a Dell Studio 1555 which was originally running Windows 7 pro rather slowly. After upgrading to 8GB RAM and putting in new SSD, I tried unsuccessfully to upgrade operating system to Windows 10. Result was frequent BSOD with multiple reasons (IRQ errors, Memory Management etc). I have now installed Windows 8.1 and completed all the updates. I have checked the new RAM using Windows Memory Diagnostic tool and no errors were found. I have checked the new SSD using disk check and it passed finding no errors.
Updated all drivers using IOBit Driver Booster 3.1,
In windows 8.1 I still get BSOD occurring, most often during start up after PC has not been on for several hours, occassionally BSOD occurs during use after startup. Some of the errors, each on a different occassion are listed below.
BugCheck 1A, {41792, fffff6bffec404e0, 6000000, 0}
Probably caused by : ntkrnlmp.exe ( nt! ?? ::FNODOBFM::`string'+1320a )
BugCheck C2, {9d, 7c, 1, fffff800243ab5bc}
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for mfesapsn.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for mfesapsn.sys
Probably caused by : mfesapsn.sys ( mfesapsn+25bc )
BugCheck 1000007E, {ffffffffc0000005, fffff80260b9bc2a, ffffd00190c1b5e8, ffffd00190c1adf0}
Probably caused by : memory_corruption ( nt!MiDemoteCombinedPte+42 )
BugCheck 1000007E, {ffffffffc0000005, fffff80056681cd5, ffffd000241ff7a8, ffffd000241fefb0}
Probably caused by : rimmpx64.sys ( rimmpx64+4cd5 )
Any help in identifying if this is caused by one or more Drivers that I need to update would be a great help, or advise on if this may be solvable or whether I should just run windows 7 Pro given the laptop is more than 5 years old.
Thanks in advance.
