hi folks,
i did tons of googleing and tests on my pc but i still dont have a clue. so i hope you can help me.
i installed at example rainbow six siege on my pc. i log in to the game start a new match and play around 10-11 seconds, sometimes more, sometimes less seconds the game until i got the error "Der Anzeigetreiber "nvlddmkm" reagiert nicht mehr und wurde wiederhergestellt." (i hope you can german ;)) so i lacked the way to the livekernel reports and got some watchdog crashdumps which i debugged. but i cant find the lack of these errors. im not as well versed in debbuging watchdogs logs but maybe you can help me :)

Bugcheck code is 0x00000141 VIDEO_ENGINE_TIMEOUT_DETECTED

Probably causes: drivers, Directx corrupt or need updates, overclocking GPU, overheating system

Has the game Rainbow 6 game a included map DirectX that you can update/install?

ive checked directx a couple of times updated it with june 2010 sdk and also with the web installer. "this reinstalling" thing can only happen if i reinstall windows right? cauze ive already done this 6 times. im now a bit aware of my overheat. ingame my gpu runs on 72° C and my cooler just runs in 20 % mode... i dont know where this relates to but the cooler should running higher if the gpu got more load or im false?

Yes directx is a part of windows os now. But sometimes a game has made some adjustments or new features and they include a map directx on there retailDVd or included it in their download. And you need to update/install that.

I believe 72 degrees C is not exceptionel high temperature. There are settings for how your fans can run. But i am not a real hardware geek.
I advice you to ask this question in the Performance and maintenance forum.

i adjusted now my gpu bios. its adjusted to standard MHz and Boost MHz of nvidia graphic cards (not subvendor standards) so ive got now a not OC card. i also adjusted the fan speed % to a higher value. since this my gpu doesnt get further as 60°C and i could play without any crashs. i dont know if nvidia try rubbish with the driver or my subvendor does a false oc but i know that everything worked with my graphics card as it was in another PC with amd processor. now its a intel processor and since then ive got these problems. hopefully there comes a fix out of nvidia or maybe intel drivers soon

Great, that you found a workaround.
If this is a new GPU i would contact your subvendor and tell them about this expererience/outcome. And if it could be that you have a faulty GPU with wrong specification and that you could get a RMA.
