    BSOD playing BF4

I've been having problems running BF4 for the past several days. It used to be the game would just crash, from what i could tell it was a driver issue, so i updated. Now i get bluescreen after about 30 to 40 minutes of gameplay. BF4 is the only game that causes me to blue screen.

I have a sneaking suspicion it has something to do with the graphics card or graphics drivers, but i'm no expert and can't be sure.

    Hi midoris,

    Welcome to the 8forums.

The Nvidia Video driver has been flagged.

Please uninstall everything of Nvidia using Display Driver Uninstaller, install new drivers from Nvidia and see if it helps.

Sounds more like an overheating problem with a timescale such as that, it may well show itself apparently as a driver issue.
I would check your GPU and CPU temperatures. You may already have suitable software installed for that.

Those Graphics Cards that are overclocked by manufacturers you can peg them back to standard settings to see if it improves.

Also try older drivers, not always best to use the latest. Considering the release for that game you would be looking to one around November 2014 time.

Maybe it's not, the problem, but at least you will have checked, and maybe eliminated a possibility.

An overheating problem a.t.m. doesn't seem logic to me with a timescale of 30 min.
With an overheating problem, a BSOD would occur more frequently then just when playing a game.

So to update, I installed some drivers for my motherboard that i seemed to have neglected when putting to machine together, which was about a week ago. It didn't fix BF4 crashing, but it did stop the bluescreen. The event log showed a driver, nvwgf2umx.dll buggin out, which lead me to a thread on reddit with a fix involving locking the frame rate. Seems to have worked as i have been able to run BF4 without any issues. I'm not 100% sure i fixed the problem.

Also, i don't think it was overheating, that was my initial thought but after monitoring its held steady at around 60C and no other games had been affected by it.

I'm going to wait a bit before marking this solved, but if it has i hope this will help others with the same issue.
