Hi everyone, Thanks in advance for the help.

I am unable to use this laptop without it being in safe mode. Upon boot I receive the error message "SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED". I have attempted to update both my Nvidia and Intel graphics drivers already. It seems to not be creating dump files for these crashes as well. I will be attaching the diagnostics shortly.
Thanks again.

Hi Saffron,

Welcome to the 8forums.

It seems you are behind with the Windows Update installations.
Are you able to run Windows Update in safe mode?

Unfortunately it seems the Windows Update menu won't load, I assume due to it being in safe mode.

You could try enabling driver verifier, some have said that while driver verifier was running their system became more stable

Diagnostic Test

DRIVER VERIFIER

warning   Warning
Please make a backup of your important files and get your rescue media or create one.
Please create a restore point.

Please follow this tutorial to run driver verifier.

Driver verifier stresses your drivers and will crash your pc if any driver fails due to a violation.

Driver verifier should be performed for a max of 48 hours, or when you have a bluescreen, whatever comes first.

If driver verifier has found a violation and you can't get back into windows normally, try to boot into safe mode and reset in safe mode driver verifier, or in the troubleshooting options open command prompt and type verifier /reset.

Note   Note
Your system will act very sluggishly while driver verifier is enabled, this is normal as your drivers will be being subjected to heavy testing in order to make them crash.

After enabling the driver verifier I BSOD'd on the first boot and got IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I booted again and got DRIVER_VERIFIER_IOMANAGER_VIOLATION. The third boot I switched back into safe mode with networking and returned here.[h=1][/h]

No driver has been flagged, unforunately this sometimes happens with driver verifier.

Diagnostics Test

System File Check

Please try following:

  • Open an admin command prompt
  • Copy/paste "sfc/scannow" (without quotes) and press enter
  • When it finished reboot your system
  • Open again an admin command prompt
  • Enter sfc/scannow again

If sfc/scannow does NOT say "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violation" after the second SFC, please upload the cbs.log file located at {windows partition}\Windows\Logs\CBS\, if the file is too large try a 3rd party uploader like dropbox, onedrive, google drive, mediafire etc.
System File Check(SFC a.k.a. Windows Resource Protection) needs to have your system rebooted in order for sfc to try to fix the problems that it finds.

Ran the sfc/scannow and it stated that it found nothing wrong, restarted (with verifier still running by mistake, and have turned it off now). Got an IRQL error both times during boot and am back in safe mode. Ran the sfc/scannow again and got the same message stating "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations".

Lets find out if any startup program is causing issues.

Diagnostics Test

Clean boot

Please try the following:
  • Open taskmanager
    • Go to the tab startup
    • disable everything
  • Search msconfig and open it
    • Go to the tab services
    • Check 'hide microsoft services'
    • Uncheck all other services
    • Click apply and click ok
  • Reboot if asked
See if the problem persist, if the problem does not persist enable in the startup tab in taskmanager 1 item and in the services tab in msconfig also 1 service, reboot and see if the problem persist. Keep doing this until you find the culprit or there is nothing left.

After disabling all startup and non-Microsoft services as described, I restarted and received the SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED error unless booted into safe mode. It appears to crash before it can create the dump files. I've already set it so that it will not automatically reboot when the boot fails. At that point it just hangs at 0% until I manually reset.
