BSOD - video_tdr_failure atikmpag.sys

Hi all, Sorry to be a bother, but I've been breaking my head trying to resolve this issue for the past day. I am using a Sony VIAO SVE151G13W laptop which suddenly blacked out and went to a BSOD after exiting a game I was playing. I restarted it and was given the message that "VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE atikmpag.sys" was the culprit. Have looked up on google for solutions, have tried to uninstall driver and reinstall but I get another BSOD. The only ways I can boot is through safe mode or by disabling the AMD ATI display driver in safe mode and restarting in normal mode. If someone could please kindly look into my problem, it would be much appreciated. I'm hoping that it won't be any hardware problem, fingers crossed .

Attached is the result of the dm_log_collector as given in the guidelines.

Hi lyokun,

Welcome to the 8forums.

Please visit Windows Update and install every update available, it may take a couple of times to get them all.

Your AMD Raeon HD 7500M/7600M device is disabled, this could cause the crash.
Please enable your GPU.

Daemon tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause for BSOD's.
Please remove Daemon Tools and run the SPTD pass through remover.
  1. Uninstall Daemon Tools
  2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
    • Double click the executable to open it
    • Click on the button shown below
34700d1440923396-bsod-0x124-whea_uncorrectable_error-nothing-works-a887c9d9e7.png

If the button is grayed out, like in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can close the window.

Hi again,

I updated Windows as you suggested and uninstalled Daemon tools. But, whenever I try to enable my AMD ATI Radeon graphic driver in the device manager, there's always a black screen and shutdown/restart. I also tried reinstalling the ATI software drivers by downloading it, but it also shuts down and restarts whenever I attempt it. Any more suggestions?

I have also included the latest result of the dm_log_collector after updating windows, uninstalling daemon tools and attempting to re-enable my AMD ATI Radeon drivers.

Please visit Windows Update and install every update available, it may take a couple of times to get them all.

The problem might be that the system is trying to load the drivers, but the device is disabled.
Please enable the AMD Radeon HD 7500M/7600M Series
Code:
