Solved BSOD - Windows 10: driver_irql_not_less_or_equal (etd.sys)

I received this error twice now. I looked at the other forums and they said it was related to the elan touchpad. My drivers are up to date so I don't see how this could be the problem.

The crashes are caused by ETD.sys driver which is ELAN Input Device

The driver is 6 months old, because of with windows 10 this driver isn't compatible. If there are no updates available for this driver at your manufacturer, or wherever you update this driver, you could or wait or downgrade to windows 8 (or 8.1) or not use this device until there is a driver update.
