This is my first post and I am at my wits' end ...
I have just upgraded a Gigabyte desktop / x64 AMD processor computer from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 and have now lost all network / internet connectivity. Whenever I connect to the network (via LAN cable or a Belkin wireless adapter) I get an immediate Kernel_Security_Check_Failure.
It seems unlikely to be the drivers as both connection mechanisms fail - so it must be something that's common but I cannot trace what it is. The wi-fi connection actually indicates "Connected" to the router and then fails ...
Worse, since I now have no means to connect to the internet, I cannot do the Windows Updates or run any driver update tool!
I tried to attach two minidump files - one from the 17th tested with the LAN cable and one from the 19th tested with the Wi-Fi connector - but the "Manage Attachments" form tells me the .dmp files are an invalid file type. Any ideas?
Help please!
