BSOD-Sporadic: Driver_Powet_State_Failure

Hello all,

Been receiving the several BSOD screens in this past week. Computer was acting slow, and did system restore to two weeks back and thought it might aide me once I updated computer but nope continue to show BSOD while playing online games or even without. No apparent pattern as to what could be triggering it. Am in Windows 8, haven't moved to Windows 10 as it keeps on failing (though now that I read the issues with it I have been oddly happy I didn't upgrade).

Computer is 4 months old HP laptop.

FYI this is my laptop from BBuy: HP ENVY Notebook - m7-k211dx (ENERGY STAR) Drivers and Downloads | HP® Customer Support

And these are several of my BSOD. Keep in mind I had one on 8/10 and not sure why it did not get added.

Would anyone be able to assist me on this? I am not 100% knowledgeable in modern day laptops. Apparently I can work in excel and tableau like a pro but give me a hardware or driver issue and I'm going, oooh oooh. :sarc::confused:

Hi undomiel152003,

Welcome to the 8forums.

It looks like the cause is a driver from the GPU.
If you have a laptop, go to your manufacturer and check for driver updates.
If you have a desktop, visit the website of Nvidia for driver updates.

Also update the SUPERAntiSpyware software
