    BSODs during normal use

My computer has been BSODs frequently as of late when I'm doing anything from playing a game to idling on the desktop. I originally asked a friend for advice and he seemed pretty convinced it was a HDD problem. Unfortunately, after buying and installing a new HDD I'm still getting them. My original OS was 8.1 but after switching to the new HDD I can't even install the updates necessary to upgrade to 8.1. The main error messages I would see had to do with the Kernel and memory management. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Is your ram failing? Failing RAM almost always causes BSODs'.

Try MemTest86. The program will test your ram and decide wether or not it's failing.

I ran a memtest before I switched over to the new HDD and it appeared to come up clean. Sorry, as I was editing in that information I got another BSOD . Along with the memtest, i ran chkdsk and sfc. I also updated all my drivers for my motherboard and gpu along with pretty much everything else. I also reseated the RAM.

What is the name of the BSOD(s) that you have been experiencing?
I know that this will be highly unlikely but what if the hdd you bought was defective?

Also just to let you know, my specialty is not in the BSOD area. Maybe someone more experienced will help you.

The most common messages I get are Memory Management and PFN List Corrupt Error

    Hi Freakyester,

When you get a new crash, please use the tool again and upload the zip to provide new information for us so we can help you further.
Also please fill in your specs to prevent any mistakes.

While I'm analysing your crashes here is some advice.

1 of the crashes was related to atikmpag.sys driver which is ATI Video driver.
Please remove the Catalyst Control Center and only install the Display Driver.
    Code:
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for atikmpag.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for atikmpag.sys
Temporarily remove any antivirus program via their uninstall tool, if your not using Windows Defender and enable driver verifier
    How to enable driver verifier
Should driver verifier detect a violation then your computer will crash.

This probably doesn't solve all of your crashes, but it is a start.

I've gone and filled in my specs. Sorry for not doing so earlier. Since last posting I was able to update my OS to 8.1. My latest BSOD happened while I was watching Youtube and using Facebook. The error given was PFN List Corrupt.Attachment 64369
