Several months ago I put windows 10 on my custom desktop and really enjoyed it. As of a few weeks ago, I started getting random bluescreens. They became more and more frequent with wildly ranging error codes. Unable to pin down a particular cause, I wrote it off as random issues with windows 10. With the latest build, build 10130 my computer has been a nightmare. I've seen every bsod under the sun: WHEA uncorrectable error, IRQL not less or equal, critical process died, driver manager io violation, unexpected kernel mode trap, kernel security check failure, and I decided enough was enough.
I reset the bios to default settings (disabled overclock), I reseated all power connections, cleaned out all the dust, and wiped my boot drives.
With a fresh install of windows 8.1 all seemed to be going well.
Until just 8 hours after fresh install, I'm watching a movie with my wife and bam.
WHEA UNCORRECTABLE ERROR
Just had a second one while typing this. Today is not a good day.
Computer build mostly in 2012:
Asus z77 Sabertooth (BIOS 2104 latest)
Intel i7 3770k + Corsair h110i
Seasonic SS-750KM3 (750 watt)
2x 120GB OCZ Vertex 3 in RAID0
4x G.SKILL Ripjaw X 8gb 1600 DDR3
EVGA GTX 780 Classified (Currently in default bios, no OC)
sfc /scannow, no integrity violations
chkdsk, no bad sectors
CrystalDiskInfo reports both drives in good health
Memory Diagnostic test - no errors
I'll probably pull the graphics card tonight, but it seems to be either pointing to my power supply, my drive array, or something equally as random.
I tend to doubt it is the psu, as the problem doesn't seem to come up while gaming or cpu heavy tasks - highest draw. If anything, it is less frequent. (no data to back that up though)
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I use my desktop for work and these issues are really killing my productivity. Thank you.
