BSODs on new Windows 8.1 build. DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION

I have rebuilt my old WHS and have decided to give Windows 8.1 a try with is as most of our personal pc are also running Win 8.1 and WHS 2011 is being phased out. This is mostly new hardware with the exception of storage hdds and a couple old SATA controllers. I use it mostly for serving Video, music, photos and documents as well as backup for my families home PCs.

    Mobo: ASUS, Z87-PLUS
    CPU: i3-4160 CPU @ Stock 3.60GHz
    Mem: Crucial Ballistix 2x4gb DDR3 1600
    PS: Corsair CX750M
OS HDD: Kingston SSDNow V300 120gb
External HDD enclosure: Roosewill RSV-S8 sata
Storage HDD: a mix of WD 3tb Red drives and WD 2tb Green drives

I have a mostly fresh install but have been trying and failing to locate what I believe is a driver problem. I run it mostly headless so don't see the actual blue screens but have checked the logs and have been mostly getting DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION errors. It has been happening a couple times a day.

    Attachment 62979

Thank you in advance for the help.

I got angry and did a fresh reinstall the exact same way as before and don't appear to be having any problems so far for the last 12 hours. I will update if I have the problem again.

    Thank you.

Hello, I recently put together a gaming PC on January 15th. It has had four BSOD's since then with DPC_WATCHDOG_Violation description. They were not frequent as a week or two apart, but for a new built PC it seems strange to already be running into these, so something is amiss. It is using...

I am at a standstill ever since I recieved this BSOD. At first I thought it was just a random crash and that I would've resolved it later, however it became frequent in just a matter of minutes. Playing a game, browsing the internet, listening to music, anything I do will result in another BSOD...

Hello, for a while now I have been suffering random BSODs on my copy of Windows 8.1 Pro. I have been suffering these ever since I had upgraded from Vista to Windows 8 Pro. Solved Recurring BSODs on new 8.1 64 build in BSOD Crashes and Debugging
Please help! I just put together a new 8.1 system and it seems to randomly BSOD me every few hours. It also has had issues with Windows Update - still not updating KB2919907. ...not sure if they are related. I've update all the MoBo drivers as well as the BIOS. Thanks!
I'm normally pretty good at resolving BSODs but I've got one I can't quite solve. It occurs at least once a day, and it's the same BSOD with the same error code every time. Having an MSDN subscription, I was eager to try out the Windows 8.1 RTM bits, so I asked my wife if I could borrow her HP...
