BSOD when awaking PC from standby

    Hi there,

although I hoped, that I wouldn't need my account again, it looks like I'm having BSODs again (probably not related to the old ones). :/

So, my PC goes automatically to standby after 10 minutes. During the last few days it awoke from standby but shortly after that it crashed and rebooted (*beep*).

I experienced a few other issues, which might be related:
    1) sometimes when awaking from standby, the monitor doesnt go back online (switching through Win+P helps),
    2) sometimes when awaking from standby, USB devices dont go back online (mouse and keyboard; plugging them out and in again does not help).

I have the serious suspicion that these issues are related to the motherboard. The main reason for this is that just a few minutes ago my ethernet port stopped working (after awaking the PC from standby, multiple restarts didnt help).
The cable and the rest of the LAN setup seem to work fine on other devices (tried with a laptop, currently surfing with an extra ethernet card).

So, my question is: Is this a hardware related issue or a software related issue?

    My system:
    - Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97P-D3
    - CPU: Intel i5-4460
    - GPU: Asus AMD R9 270X
    - 8GB RAM
    - Win 8.1 x64 (with all updates)

I have attached the zip created by the DM Log Collector (as mentioned here: There might be a few older memory dumps included, I dont know if there are still relevant (had a different GPU about a year ago which caused BSODs too). If you need any other informations, just ask

    Hope you can help.

All of your dumps are blaming your ATI driver, both 0xF7 (where the driver has overran a stack-based buffer) and 0x9F (where the driver is causing a power state failure).

The driver is old, download the latest driver for your card from here and save it to your desktop. Download DDU and follow Display Driver Uninstaller: How to use - Windows 7 Help Forums to remove all traces of your current driver. Reboot and install the downloaded driver. Test and report back.

    Hi Boozad,

I followed your instructions and uninstalled the driver using the Driver Uninstaller. I have then installed the "Omega 14.12" driver.

Just a few minutes ago, I had another Bluescreen.

According to WinDbg the last BSOD was again caused by some ATI-driver:
    Probably caused by : atikmdag.sys ( atikmdag+13c32f )
Any further suggestions how to solve this?

I've just another two bluescreen, which seem to be related to atikmdag.sys (24.07. and 26.07.).

Is this more of a generic driver problem or is there anything I can do?

    Hi sonstwas ^_^,

Have you tried installing the driver from the driver CD which you would have got when you purchased the Graphics Card?

If you are still crashing, please reply back to this thread.
