Recent BSOD on Windows 8.1 Pro (x64)

    Greetings forum,

I'd like your help on resolving a BSOD I experienced recently. I wasn't too worried until it happened again and I wish to know what cause it. I've attached a zip file created using the tool mentioned in the posting instructions. The BSOD happened after I installed Hotspot shield but I'm not entirely sure it is because of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Looking forward to your replies!

Hi akumenon & Welcome to the forums ^_^,

I have analysed your dump files and below has been provided an analysis of the same for informative purposes :-

    DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION (133)
The DPC watchdog detected a prolonged run time at an IRQL of DISPATCH_LEVEL or above.
    Arguments:
    Code:
Arg1: 0000000000000000, A single DPC or ISR exceeded its time allotment. The offending
component can usually be identified with a stack trace.
Arg2: 0000000000000501, The DPC time count (in ticks).
Arg3: 0000000000000500, The DPC time allotment (in ticks).
    Arg4: 0000000000000000
So, according to the dump file, an Interrupt Service Routine took longer than it was supposed to which ultimately caused the system to crash.

Let's check the stack and see if we find something or not -
    Code:
    6: kd> knL
     # Child-SP RetAddr Call Site
    00 ffffd000`b5d5bc88 fffff803`c8de9f28 nt!KeBugCheckEx
    01 ffffd000`b5d5bc90 fffff803`c8cba871 nt! ?? ::FNODOBFM::`string'+0xad68
    02 ffffd000`b5d5bd20 fffff803`c8c167b5 nt!KeClockInterruptNotify+0x91
    03 ffffd000`b5d5bf40 fffff803`c8d55143 hal!HalpTimerClockIpiRoutine+0x15
    04 ffffd000`b5d5bf70 fffff803`c8dd012a nt!KiCallInterruptServiceRoutine+0xa3
    05 ffffd000`b5d5bfb0 fffff803`c8dd050f nt!KiInterruptSubDispatchNoLockNoEtw+0xea
    06 ffffd000`b5d530e0 fffff803`c8d5611e nt!KiInterruptDispatchLBControl+0x11f
    07 ffffd000`b5d53270 fffff800`cd019a1b nt!KxWaitForSpinLockAndAcquire+0x22
    08 ffffd000`b5d532a0 00000000`00000000 hssdrv6+0x1a1b
So, the HotSpot Shield Driver was waiting for acquiring a spin lock on a resource. But, it took too long to get the resource.

Below is a list of 3rd party drivers present on your system -

Kindly follow the below steps -

    1. Please remove Team Viewer as it's driver is very old and hence is not compatible with Windows 8.1.
    2. Please remove HotSpot Shield VPN and check the system for stability.

Let me know how it goes ^_^
