    System_Thread_Exeption_Not_Handled NETIO.SYS

Hello guys. I am about to crush my computer, I am so frustrated with this problem.

I have been having this problem for more than 6 monts now. I was under windows 7 Ultimate 64 before, and I formated my computer, installing windows 8.1 (original key). The BSOD stopped for some time, like 1 month or so but they are back.

I am getting about 5 of these per day, and they don't seem to have a clear cause. Sometimes I am only browsing online (Mozilla Firefox Updated) or sometimes I am watching Youtube videos, or using Photoshop, or listening to some song in Spotify or torrenting with Utorrent. I dont know what is causing this and its driving me crazy.

Looking the .dmp files with BlueScreenView they usually say SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDED (NETIO.SYS) And I have also got some DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (PSHED.dll)

    What have I already done?

    * Already scanned my computer for Malwares with Malwarebytes (0 found)
    * Scanned my computer with my Antivirus (Bidefender 2015) (0 found)
    * Turned off the Teredo tunneling adapter
    * My network cards adapters has already the last drivers installed (Uptodate)
    * Graphics card with lastest drivers installed (Uptodate)

I do have a firewall, which is from Bitdefender Firewall, do you guys think coul be it?

Well I am attaching my zip for debugging here, I will be so happy if someone solve this!

    Attachment 61820

    Thank you guys.

You have both ZoneAlarm and BitDefender installed which is not advised, they can conflict with each other and in this case both are being identified in your dumps.

    Code:

Uninstall both ZoneAlarm and BitDefender and use the native Windows Defender coupled with MalwareBytes for testing purposes. Run MalwareBytes on demand as opposed to realtime.

    Note   Note
Make sure you uncheck the 'Enable Free Trial' box when installing.

Thank you Boozad, I will try all you said!

The only weird thing is that I dont have ZoneAlarm anymore. I had a problem uninstalling it though some time ago, and used a software to help me to get rid of some junk files it left behind. I thought it was gone for good, but as you showed me it still present... (how could I remove it?). It is not available in my system to uninstal it, and even using IObit Unisntaller I could not find it, or any remains of it...

Nevertheles, thanks man, I will try your sugestions

Let us know how you get on. IObit may have caused more trouble than it's fixed, it's known for screwing up systems but I can't confirm that for certain. I'll dig out the ZA uninstaller when I'm home from work tonight.

Man, thanks so much for taking your time with this.

Yeah, I will uninstall IObit also, I know it's a fishy software, will remove it also. I am looking for a ZoneAlarm uninstaller also

    Thanks Again Boozad!

    Hey Boozad

I did everything you suggested me, except for the "uninstalling ZoneAlarm" part, just because I could not find a official uninstall tool for that. Other than that I did all. Until now I had NO BlueScreens at all, which is weird because as I've mentioned I was getting 5 per day! So, till now is good man! I am wondering that if this really fixed, it might be my BitDefender, and I have a original key for that, it kinda sucks have to uninstalling it to use Windows Firewall though... Should I re-install it after a week or so? What do you suggest me?

Going to keep you posted on the following weeks. Thanks again!

The majority of AVs have been known to cause BSODs, BitDefender included so it may well be you're better off without it providing you have a suitable replacement (Windows Defender should do you good alongside MalwareBytes). Test the system for stability and keep us posted, I'm subscribed to the thread so will get notified when you post.

    Hello again!

Just checking in to some updates.

Till now I had NO BSODs whatsoever, I am really happy! I am working all day long, using my computer's full capacity and with 100% good response from the system. I will wait till this completes one weak old (just for safety) and I think I will call it solved! Also I am thinking in re install Bitdefender in one weak just to see if I get any BSOD again, since I've also updated my wireless drivers and that could be the problem. If I get BSOD with it will remove it and install another pack, such as Avast I guess ? since I don't really wanna rely on Windows Defender...

    Thanks Boozad, many thanks man!

You're welcome, glad to hear all is good. To be honest virtually every other AV causes BSODs at some point on some systems, but it's your choice what you wish to install, I can only advise. Either way if you have more issues in future whatever your choices we'll be here to help.
