So I wanted to backup some data really fast so I took the drive out of my notebook and put it in my pc. The drive said it was offline in disk management so I told it to be online

After making a backup of the drive pretty fast I tried to run it in my notebook again and now it said it wont boot and needs restore.

I did not change nothing on the drive I just backup some large data and put it back in the notebook?

Does anyone know what is wrong? It still shows an active partition and Im pretty stumped now.

Id hate to reinstall the whole OS again as the startup repair disc is not working:rolleyes:

I think booting Windows DVD and picking Startup Repair may be all you need to do. Wait, this is W8, booting a DVD may [or may not] involve Disable Secure Boot in UEFI. F12 right after post beep; picking the DVD drive.

Yes I disabled secure boot already. i tried the win 8 startup repair and it said it can not repair

I turn the disk online and offline with diskpart but that does not help either way.

This makes no sense. All I did was backup my data I did not modify the drive in any way except telling it to be online in disk management
