BSOD when connecting USB Mobile Internet Dongle

Hi,

I get a BSOD "Driver power state failure" whenever I connect my Vodafone ZTE K4201I USB Mobile Internet Dongle. I am using a dell Inspiron 15R laptop with Windows 8.1 64 bit. While the dongle does light up, it does not show as 'detected' and the BSOD pops up within a minute or two after connecting. Usually, when it restarts after the BSOD, there is a message that 'no AMD graphics driver is installed'. If I try to update the USB Mobile Broadband driver without the dongle connected (on WiFi) it says that the best driver is installed.

Also, these days even without connecting the dongle, the laptop takes a long time to boot - there is the starting Dell screen, which then goes blank for a while, then again the Dell screen appears, and only after it the login page (with face recognition / password) appears. In Device manager, the face recognition driver shows as disabled saying that it malfunctioned and has hence been disabled.

Can anyone help?

Hi Dharamrajan ^_^,

I am really sorry for the delayed response :( . There are not many analysts around and hence the delay. Do you still require help with this problem? If yes, then kindly respond to this thread and I would be notified via email about your reply. I will also try my best to reply within 48 hours.

Hi Pranav,

Yes, it would be really helpful if you could, I have not found any solution. I have tried updating drivers, but nothing works...Just as I connect the dongle, the entire system freezes after a few minutes.

Also, nowadays Windows takes reaaaaallly long to boot up..I have tried using DriverMax to update my drivers but it is not of much help.

Can you please reply here blueelvis instead of by email, that way it will help others who have the same issue. I'm having the same problems too, my three dongle was working fine until i plugged in my other mobile device which happens to be vodafone and now everytime i try to connect using my three device my laptop basically crashes, a message pops up saying your PC has ran in to a problem and needs to restart, with another little pop up that reads driver power state failure. Please help me, i have no internet now while i'm out. Sorrry for hijacking your topic but i can't find a solution anywhere.

Hi,

Vodafone USB driver does not work with this version of Windows.
Vodafone support page doesn't even provide driver but they do has to say following:

https://www.business.vodafone.com/s...productsupport/usb_stick/p_usb_stick_2row.jsp

This device uses QuickStart. Check your local Vodafone support web site or contact your local customer care team if you have any problems with this product and the QuickStart application.
