BSOD WppRecorder.sys

Greetings,

Issue:
After a pc restart, the pc is not booting into windows 8.1 anymore and stops at following BSOD error:

" Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We’re just collecting some info, and then we’ll restart for you. If you would like to know more, you can search online later for this error: WppRecorder.sys."

The reason for restarting pc was AVG 2015 updates.

There have been no recent hardware changes and no major software ones either, as far as I am aware of.

I did try a system restore, but that didn't not work out.
(Note: this is not the first time getting this BSOD, last time tho, system restore did help to boot into windows).

Any input on this issue would be highly appreciated.

A small update:
Uninstalled AVG 2015 in safe mode, restarted and the pc seems to boot into windows 8.1 just fine.
If anyone still has the time/interest to look into to this issue, your more then welcome to do so.
Will update drivers, windows updates etc and report later.
