Can't post file. Please Help 0xc0000034 Acer S7

View attachment 60504View attachment 60506View attachment 60503View attachment 60505View attachment 60502I have an Acer Aspire S7-391
Win 8.1 x64

I've been reading everything I can find and feel like I need to take my machine into someone, I hope not.

I get the blue screen of death when I turn it on.
The first time it happened I was able to press esc and get into the Boot Menu.
Unfortunately, I didn't know what to do and shut the computer back down.
I can no longer press ESC from the BSD and get into the Boot Menu.

I've tried F8, F10, F12 while manufactures logo is up - no luck
I created a recovery SD (from my 2nd machine) and inserted it in the laptop.
The laptop doesn't seem to see it when I start it up.
I've tried several times, nothing but BSD and then it shuts itself down.

4/14/15

I figured out how to get into the Boot menu. It's F2 for Acer Laptops for anyone who does not know.

I changed my boot order so that USB HDD is now listed first.
Reboot
Still landing on BSOD.
I tried this process multiple times with the boot disk in my SD slot and in the USB slot.
I tried multiple different boot orders as well.
End result is always BSOD.

Does anyone have any experience with this? I've been waiting since 4/11/15 for a response.

Hi soleil & welcome to the forums ^_^,

Sorry for the late response. Are you able to get into Safe Mode? If you are able to get into the Safe Mode, could you please follow the below instructions?
http://www.eightforums.com/bsod-cra...e-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html

If not, then could you please post a screenshot (Camera Shot) of the Blue Screen which you are getting?

Also, from the startup options, are you able to open up Command Prompt by any chance?

Are you still able to access the screen shots I posted?

I was able to get the recovery boot disk to begin however I did not allow it to run as I need to know if it is going to wipe all of my files off? Can they be saved first?

Thank you!!

Tonight I tried using a 128G memory stick instead of the 4G SD card to boot from.
This was the way to go. The memory stick worked, SD not at all.

I have not tried to repair yet however I was able to get the exe to begin running.
I did not progress beyond choosing the language as I wanted to double check on something first.

Will running the boot disk repair wipe my memory?
Is there any way to save my files before we wipe it?

Thank you!

Hi Soleil ^_^,

I am really sorry for the delayed response. I am out of town and my exams are also approaching so have been studying a bit. Kindly respond to this thread once. I would be composing a little guide in the night once I am free.

Hi Soleil ^_^,

First of all, once again sorry for the late reply. I know that the data is precious to you. Firstly, let's proceed and backup your data. Kindly follow the below steps so that we could backup the data before proceeding with the repair of the BCD. Please note that I used these instructions quite some time ago to recover my own files from my own laptop, so if my memory serves me right, these should work pretty well. -

  1. Kindly boot up with your boot disk. Once you get to the main Window, kindly click on "Repair My Computer".
  2. Once the menu opens up, click on Advanced Options. You would get a screen like below -
    Windows-8-advanced-boot-option_thumb.jpg
  3. Now click on command prompt. A black console window would open up where you can type commands.
  4. Now type in "notepad" in the command prompt window and Notepad would open up.
  5. Once notepad has opened, click on File -> Open or press Ctrl+O. This would open up the Open dialog box which you can use to copy the files freely without typing in long commands. I don't remember if keyboard shortcuts work or not but you can always right click and click on Copy & Paste.

Once you have backed up your data, kindly follow the below guide -
Windows 8 Boot Issues? Try Fixing the Master Boot Record (MBR) or Boot Configuration Data (BCD) - TechSpot

Let me know how it goes ^_^

Unfortunately I'm not able to figure out how to copy the items. I need to copy photos and I cannot get the "Open dialog" box to copy the Pictures folder or even open the pictures folder.

I went ahead with the other steps to see how far I could get, It found an installation of Windows but could not load it. I then went to the "bcdedit" commands and it could not run the command.
