BSOD after watching livestreaming

Hello,

After watching livestreaming online on websites like twitch or pokerstars , my laptop stutters and then I get the BSOD message. I noticed that after getting "BSOD" the laptop is pretty hot. I also play DOTA2 sometimes even though this is not a gaming laptop and as a consequence the laptop is hotter than it used to be.

I would like to know if this is a hardware problem like ram or hdd.(or anything else)

Any help is appreciated.
Kind regards

Hi Sergiuvl, Welcome to Eight forums.

I used to get BSOD while streaming video and I disabled hardware acceleration and my BSOD's stopped. I'm not saying this is your issue, but its worth a shot.

Now, onto your BSOD

Your BSOD references memory corruption but lets start by removing Avast and enabling Windows Defender

Code:
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for aswSnx.sys

 [COLOR=#ff0000]aswSnx[/COLOR]+0x71b7

Remove Avast and Enable Windows Defender
http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/21962-windows-defender-turn-off-windows-8-a.html

Remove the following:
Avast
Daemon Tools
Pokki

Download Revo Uninstaller and uninstall them
http://www.howtogeek.com/79926/completely-uninstall-programs-and-more-with-revo-uninstaller/

I would run a scan with Windows Defender, TDSS Killer, Malwarebytes and ADWCleaner

TDSS Killer

Malwarebytes
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/338716-malwarebytes-anti-malware-free.html

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/

Download Autoruns
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx

Extract autoruns.exe to Desktop > Right-click > Run as administrator

Delete all entries in Yellow

Assuming you do in fact have a Lenovo model U310, your BIOS is out of date
(By the way, fill out system specs please :: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/180324-system-info-see-your-system-specs.html)

Code:

http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/ideapad-u-series-laptops/ideapad-u310

Also, you seem to have a driver for an Intel Nuc

Driver version: 10.18.10.3621
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/23886/Graphics-Intel-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Intel-NUC

Try this one

I could probably find more but lets start with that and if we need to start testing Hardware, we will. Please report back with the results.

Hey!

Thanks for the reply and valuable intel.
I did everything you said and after scanning with malwarebytes it found nothing. I deleted 4 entries using autoruns(yellow entries).
I installed the video driver you provided. I DID NOT install the newer version of BIOS as i`m not really familiar with these kind of update. Do you think i could handle the process ? Is it something easy to do ? I will keep you posted with any problems I may start having from now on.

Kind regards

Sorry for the delay in responding. There just aren't that many people who do BSOD analysis, so at times we get a bit overwhelmed!

Do you still need help with this problem?

Your UEFI/BIOS dates from 2012. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any UEFI/BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the UEFI/BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard. If possible, use the "inside Windows" flash mechanism (if your OEM provides one) - that is much more forgiving than the traditional (floppy drive) flash method.

This device is disabled in Device Manager. Is this deliberate? If so, why?
Qualcomm Atheros AR3012 Bluetooth 4.0 + HS USB\VID_0CF3&PID_3004\ALASKA_DAY_2006 This device is disabled.
Please enable the device and then update it's drivers. Feel free to disable it again AFTER updating the drivers.

Lot's of Windows Updates failures in the WER section of the MSINFO32 report. If the problems continue, please post over in the http://www.eightforums.com/windows-updates-activation/ for further expert assistance with this issue.

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen both dtsoftbus01.sys and dtscsibus.sys blamed on several occasions).
Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): New link (15 Aug 2012): DuplexSecure - Downloads (pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install" when you run it).
Alternate link: Disk-Tools.com
Manual procedure here: Registry and SPTD problems | DAEMON Pro Help
If you've already uninstalled it, please disregard this.

Do not run more than one antivirus at the same time. I note that MalwareBytes is running in addition to your Avast. Please uninstall MalwareBytes. Should you choose to reinstall it, please opt out of the trial for the Pro version (during installation) - that's the component that loads into memory. If you have switched from Avast to MalwareBytes, then please disregard this.

Beyond this I have these 4 suggestions:
1. Get ALL available Windows Updates. It may take several trips to get them all
2. Get ALL available, Win8.1 compatible updates from the manufacturer's website.
3. Start with these free hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics
4. If all of the hardware tests pass, then run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: http://www.carrona.org/verifier.html

Hello,

So i finally updated my BIOS version and everything turned out OKAY. Wasn`t that hard after all. I`ve also took the "REFRESH YOUR PC" option from windows 8.1 and it restored my PC to my default settings and eventually windows 8.0. Last but not least I updated all my drivers, installed all available updates for windows and then upgraded to windows 8.1 again from the STORE menu. While watching a music video on YOUTUBE the laptop suffered ya BSOD with the same message KERNAL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR and after restart started to move really slow, It took 10 seconds just to open a folder and general stuttering. I opened task manager and saw that the GPU was working 100% even though I had no apps running and process that took the most GPU POWER was the SYSTEM file. Unfortunately i did not collect the BSOD log with the tool provided on this forum. I decided to REFRESH the PC again with the option from windows, update its drivers , install windows updates but i havent installed windows 8.1 this time. SO far i havent had any BSOD while watching any youtube videos, twitch streams and stuff that would generally trigger the error. Could windows 8.1 be a problem for my system ? I will continue to force my laptop with youtube videos and twitch and see if i get any BSOD.

Thanks for the valuable help so far, hope we solve this once and for all

EDIT: i just had a BSOD crash while watching a movie on my laptop. Seems windows 8.1 isnt responsible after all :/ I have attached the log in case you want to see it

8.1 was a huge leap from 8 (kernel version jumped from 6.2 to 6.3 - not usual in an incremental update, and (IMO) a likely cause of the problems with it). I'm was still having 8.1 issues when I converted to Win10 a couple of weeks ago.

Try this:
1. Start with these free hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics
2. If all of the hardware tests pass, then run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings
