Random Power Loss / Event 41, Kernal-Power / no BSOD

    Hello Everyone,

I need your help to troubleshoot why my desktop PC randomly loses power. This happens every few days, sometimes multiple times. Without warning, the computer completely loses all power. The case fans stop for a moment. The computer then beeps and reboots. There is never any BSOD and no dump file is created.

This seems to happen often when using Firefox, but also at other times, even when Firefox is closed and the computer is idle/unattended.

It does not seem temperature related. The case is clean and well ventilated. I see nothing out of range when monitoring temperatures with HWiNFO64 or CPUID HWMonitor.

    Custom home-built
    Operating System: Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit (6.3, Build 9600)(9600.winblue_r7.150109-2022)
    Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R v1
    BIOS: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG
    Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 930 @ 2.80GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
    Memory: Corsair TR3X6G1600C8 G; 6144MB RAM
    Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 5670
    System drive: SSD KINGSTON SH100S3120G
    PSU: Corsair TX750W

    Protected by CyberPower 1350PFCLCD

    DM Log collector file attached.

Thank you for having a look. Any help is much appreciated!

Are you certain your PSU is OK? I'd check RAM too with Memtest86+
RAM: RAM - Test with Memtest86+ - Windows 7 Help Forums
one stick at a time eight passes per stick
Run SFC: SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker - Windows 7 Help Forums

    Please do the following:
    - open Event Viewer (run eventvwr.msc from the "Run" dialog))
    - expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")
    - right click on Administrative Events
    - select "Save all Events in Custom View as..."
    - save the file as Admin.evtx
    - zip up the file (right click on it, select "Send to", select "Compressed (zipped) folder")
    - upload it with your next post (if it's too big, then upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link here).

Thank you for your response and advice.

The PSU seems to be cool and running normally, but I am unsure how to test/diagnose it specifically. It could very well be the cause. I would have to try a new PSU and see if the issue goes away.

RAM: I created a Memtest86+ USB stick and will run the test overnight.
SFC scan results: Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

    Admin.evtx is attached below.

    Thank you again!

Try that, please. Also, is your PC configured to create dump files?

    Update:
RAM: I ran the Memtest86+ USB stick overnight and all day yesterday with 13 passes, no errors.
SFC scan results: Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

My computer is set up to create minidumps under advanced system properties. I have had this set to Kernel Memory Dump in the past, but the dump files do not seem to get generated in my situation. The setting Automatically restart is unchecked, though the system reboots after the power loss nonetheless.

Any insight from the Admin.evtx event log?

I'm not sure what to do next.. replace the PSU or the graphics card? Or something else?

    Thank you again.
